Philo, A few guys have been revamping trucks on DTX and there's a set of Deaver LT's with Carli shackles in the classifieds.

The crowd is tough on that forum Bob. If it doesn't say Thoren or Carli it doesn't work I guess.

It might take a while for them to warm up to me...

I was reading on there about how the front end needed to be jigged and welded in such a way that you needed to do a bunch of equations to figure out weld warpage and then rent a giant trash can, fill it with kitty litter, and put propane heaters on it to slow cooling.

That's great and all if you are building a satellite out of cast metals for some reason but I doubt he has ever checked how stuff comes out of the factory. Older cars I'd see .500 differences between frames and 9" housing with the ends 3/8 off.

Funny how crazy some people go with stuff, and yes I've noticed the same in factory "tolerances" (if you could even call them that.
These 70's trucks will open your eye for how different stuff could be side to side.
