There's an intersection on Euclid/ellis and ward you g-out pretty good on. Not quite blues bros but you can get a little air.

I didn't want to deal with the delete kit, insurance and registration is cheaper, parts are easier to come by, and finding a non megacab in later years is difficult.


I also have way more experience with 03-06 trucks, back when they were new I did a lot of work on them for the local dealerships. The only plus I see on the newer trucks is a better trans and EFI live.

Took the truck out to go shooting today. The truck is really rough on small square edge stuff and washboard. It eats huge stuff like it's no big deal though...

Tires were at full pressure but I think it could be made a lot nicer with a little work. I haven't even checked the nitro level on the shocks yet...

I have no idea when the last time the shocks were checked or had the oil changed.... if ever. That will be my starting point.

The rear leaf pack is probably a lot of my ride problem, looks like the factory main leaf and secondary leaf with an aftermarket two leaf mini pack that has a different arch to it. Thinking about ditching the air bags as it won't ever tow more than a 8-9K loaded car trailer.

Rear axle needs a truss, front axle needs the 'C's welded/gusseted.

Very nice buy bro, I'm with you on ditching the airbags and old leafs, I think a decent set of deavers will change it up alot out back. I'm curious if the shock oil is dark too.

Everything on the truck is solid. It's actually fairly quiet inside for having a solid mounted cage. The only noise from the roof is a little bit of wind noise.

I am going to do a Tony style sound deadening job on it to quiet it even more. Headliner will help a lot with noise since they removed it for the cage, I am going to make a new multi piece one out of PVC foamboard and gray vinyl.

I am also thinking about building a tonneau cover for the remaining portion of the bed so I can lock everything down in it and have a flat area to put a tent on (expedition style).

I started checking everything on the dash out yesterday and getting used how it works. Truck has two radios and the GPS on the ACC circuit, going to change that so I can leave them on.

Also has a Tekonsha brake controller mounted right next to the key, annoying. It's going to get moved. Also going to move the switches for the lights on the front, current position is hard to get to and does not have a aircraft style switch protector on it.


Interior lights also suck. Has a LED strips that are half burned out for the front passengers only. Going to install actual interior lights with map lights from something else. It does have a couple of red LED strips that come on with the head lights which really help to see the interior without reducing night vision (this is why aircraft lights are red in the cockpit) but they need a dimmer of some sort as I'm afraid some cop might throw a fit for red facing forward.

I was all ready to tear into the wiring to make the GPS and radios work with the ignition off, luckily the first person to wire this did it correctly and the second only did that horrible splice for the air bag system(soon to be removed!). Only had to move two fuses!

The nice thing is they also left room for expansion...

That makes room for the pit flood lights, seat heaters like a trophy truck has, seat massager system, flashlight recharger, STS missile launcher (guided by the Lawrance on NEMA 2000 network), and whatever else I can dream up.

No, I did not. I use a Dymo printer so I doubt I would be able to use it...

Sadly I bought this from the second owner, not the builder. I think I already know more about it than he does and he owned it for two years!
