Need some help on the tranny I have
I am getting ready to order a deep pan for my 1994 5.0 bronco. I thought I had a E4OD but in JBG they have up to a 96 with a AODE. Can someone confirm what i have or tell me the difference. Maybe one has more pan bolts than another. By the way I have been doing a good amount work to this thing so it should be ready soon!!

If you go to the JBG site or any others that sell trans parts, you can look at the shape of the gasket for that trans or the amount of bolts it uses and compare it to yours. You can usually find it in the Chiltons or Haynes manuels too.

This should help a bit. Just compare it to your trans oil pan and you'll be able to determine it.

Deep pans dont have much return on investment besides looking neat. Another or larger cooler and temp guage would do more good for the trans life. Some brands use oddball filters other than stock so keep an eye out for that.

Thanks for the picture. That is what I needed. I feel the 3 extra quarts of fluid is a good thing. I already have a big cooler and my trans does not run too hot but the cooler the better. more fluid=cooler temps.
E4OD it is!!
E4OD it is!!

Be careful, some of these extra capacity pans require a fair amount of fab work to the crossmember to be able to fit. Not sure about the E4OD but a 2 quart pan and a C-6 require this.

Just a quick update- Installed the Drahel deep E4OD pan. All I did was install the pan and replace the filter, a basic service and it took 17 qts to fill it up!!! the new pan is BIG. Around town the trans temp is 15 degrees cooler and it has been hot here. Overall I am very happy.
