How will you maintain the gun show?

Looking forward to seeing it completed.

It's not a kit. Picked up the heims, misalignment bushings, hex weld bungs and tube from Ruff Stuff. Great prices and they seem to put a lot of effort into quality, cost effective goods. Tube is made by Wheatland. The pitman and swinger are from an unknown vendor. Picked them up at LeDuc's.

Excited to see you back to work on the Bronco and not just the RC car. :D

Hex weld bungs? What would they benefit?

BTW, I just looked up Wheatland..... Made and Melted in America (says the website)!!! Nice to see USA material sold still.

If he got both LH and RH bungs the hex will make it nice for adjustment and tightening the jam nut.

Where can you pick up some bungs like those? Would make things a ton easier when adjusting my steering haha.

B, this will be awesome... can't wait to see it completed and get a full drivers assessment report on the increased driveablilty. This is one upgrade that's on the "must do" list, but it's far off into the future. The one thing I want to add is a ram to protect the sector shaft.

Wow! The misalignment bushings are roughly .640 on the ID. That's ridiculous! The OD's measure anywhere from .7465 to .7489. Shit tolerancing and/or shit quality control. The threads are sloppy in the weld bungs. Not sure if it's the bung or the heim though. They may tighten up after welding, but not across the entire section. The heims ID measure ok and they do have rolled threads, which is good to see. There are so many manufacturers out there that have no clue on fits and tolerances. This shit just pisses me off. In hind sight, I should have just bought one heim and checked it out before going all in.

Call them and talk to them......I've had many friends buy from Ruff Stuff and never complain. Of course, they aren't in your line of work and didn't measure anything. :D

After screwing around with shitty misalignments, I now have no problem spending the cash for the Kartek heat treated units. A little antiseize and they pop back out like new........

That's probably where I'll be headed next Brian. They're always expensive, but right on quality.

Brian, I've bought a bunch of stuff from Ruffstuff and they've always been really good - I'm sure they'll take it all back.

Ended up picking up misalignment bushings from Kartek. A ton more expensive, but much more consistent on quality. Also picked up four bungs that I plan to machine flats on. The threads are nice and tight with just a thou or two clearance. Exactly what I wanted. After measuring the Ruff Stuff misaligns I found that 3 were good with .626 ID's. The rest were .641-.642. Still haven't called them, but it certainly would have been nice to get a reply to my email.

The Kartek misaligns all measured approximately .628"...estimate since I'm just using calipers. Reasonable clearance, none the less. The shoulder widths had a bit more variation, which doesn't really matter, because I've got to turn 20 thou or so off to fit the pitman and swinger anyway. Getting excited to finally get this project going. Big thanks to Andy to helping me out! I'll try not to let you down. Haha!

Kartek bushings on the bottom. Much narrower with a wider flange and plenty of land to machine. Not so much with the Ruff Stuff...stuff.
