Been there, done that stuffing a supercab on the U-Haul trailer that is a tad too short for it. Our trip was be from Hesperia at +/-45 MPH the whole way.

Oh, and this was the tow rig, so it's not just towing with the bronco - it's the load and weight distribution of that load on the trailer.

I swear I was going to lose it at one point. Super sketchy. I should have done that with the ramps and tie downs.

Re: Mild DD 1982 F150 flareside build
we almost did lose it on our trip. VERY scary. That was when we hit I think about 55 mph coming down a grade. Pucker moment for all of us in the truck for sure! Slow & steady after that...
Hopefully the resale on yours will be worth the effort though. Or you could just keep it for the longer wheel base to tow the next one - lol.

Yep, runs with a 351w and c6. Carb needs to be cleaned or choke needs work but once it's warm it runs great.

Been working all month on prepping this old race truck for norra.
It's a 1980 but had an ugly 87-91 front clip put on at some point. They wanted me to go down and chase with them for the race but apparently Norra is the same weekend as my wedding! Doh! Kind of bummed about that.
Plated my beams and added a little truss.

Got some parts back from powder coating. It's been so hot here, hard to be motivated to install anything in the heat.

Well. Thought I’d update. Installed a few things.

And she’s on her own weight now. Next on the list is to make a new engine cage cross bar. I guess these earlier frames are a little bit narrower than the solo cage was built for.

Dropped the hangers.
As you can see the shackles didn’t want to work with these wider springs. At full droop the leaves were separating a lot and I wasn’t getting very much droop. The shackle was barely moving also.
So I moved the hanger back.
This gave me a lot more travel. The shackles can actually move and do their job now before the leaves start to separate.
