That's how it goes... still $1000 is pretty close. Most of that is to use your giant shocks huh?yikes wrote:In some respects. The problem is, I can't quite find the dollar tree. Still almost a grand left to spend to get this wrapped up.philofab wrote:Looks nice... can you finally see the light at the end of the tunnel?

Thanks Jer. No doubt, getting out in the dirt again is long overdue.Polarcub wrote:Brian its looking really good. Will be good to see it out and about again. Hang in there its close......
Here's some poor-boy bumpstops. Still trying to use what I've got on hand to save the $,$$$. The right side may tie in to the clevis mount, which is why the extra material.

Not what I wanted. If it still needs the help after these shocks are dialed I'll go with a shorty.philofab wrote:What made you decide to ditch the SAW bumps?

Re: Brian's '96
I have to say working with Ron at Revolution Racing Shocks has been great. He is going out of his way to put some tender springs together for me. I haven't got the final word on whether or not he can get them to my specs, but he's working on it and that just rocks! Even better than that...he used to race with these shocks and was able to give me some pointers on them. First and foremost being to be sure to use Viton o-rings, because the rubber will break down the first time they heat up. (Are these Viton Steve?) He confirmed that they do tend to run hot; however, being on the front I shouldn't have a problem with Delrin sliders. They prefer aluminum though. He said to leave about a 3/4" spring separator flange and .05" clearance to the shock body to allow the air to move around. That's how they do it. He's also got a bunch of RGM springs in a 28" 450lb variety. A little stout for a single spring, but interesting to know that they're working with him.

Re: Brian's '96
As far as I know they're standard rubber o-rings. I didn't ask for anything special since that's what came out of them. I don't have any idea at what temperatures those start going to poop. Maybe Kris can answer that?yikes wrote:First and foremost being to be sure to use Viton o-rings, because the rubber will break down the first time they heat up. (Are these Viton Steve?)

I just discovered what I thought was the result of a bent frame is actually a bent body at the A pillar, so yeah, the 1000 is best case. Reality is this thing needs to be caged...NOW!tcm glx wrote:Damn that looks Sick Brian!! So, is the coutdown still the 1000, or do you think it will be running sooner?

Are you going to run a hood scoop for that new air intake? What's the air intake temp sensor going to tell you about the air temp now? Speaking of that, where are you going to put the AIT sensor?
