Re: The Gun Thread

Post by Wrightracing.net »

My new build of an 80% AR15 will include a bullet button and have only a 10 round magazine. I know the rules are different for a rim fire versus a center fire gun so I wondered if a .22 AR would be legal with a SBR barrel and a collapsible stock? Will I need a Class 3 license since it would be a SBR but homemade and a .22LR.

From what I have read so far the law is not clear.
The barrel length is the factor in a store bought gun but
is it in a homemade gun. Dumb rule anyway you look at it.
Two inch shorter barrel does not make a gun more or less dangerous.

I am building this gun for me and not to sell.

Below is my last build. It is a target gun and not for home defense.
So far the longest shot I made with it is 300 yards and 4 inch grouping.

I already got the gun paint from Magpul so when I paint the new lower I plan to paint the forearm on my target rifle also to match the stock. So it will be two tone.

On a more sombre note, have a read of this and tell me what you all think. This is why we had to give up our semi-autos, and we WERE SET UP.

California gun owners. Whats up with "off list" stuff? What makes something off list? I was surprised to see people talking about on/off list pistols. I thought they would be regular pistols just limited to 10 round mags

Solution.......

Move to AZ... No smog, no silly 10 round clip laws, no rust police.... AussiRod.. Wtf cops that hit you up for rust????
Not much traffic, put a license plate on pretty much anything.....
73 right now... Cold beer, colorado river.... 10000 mi of off road trails with out any traffic....

Or we can go wake boarding.... blow stuff up, shoot guns, campfire, off road races..
2 BITD next month... Hunt, hike, enjoy nature, clean air, fish, etc...

All while being safe to the environment for our kids to enjoy for years to come....

Happy new year!!!!!!

For sure. With all the hippies invading AZ, I don't think it's the bastion of freedom it once was but still, leaps and bounds better than CA. In that respect.

I will say, though. Living outside of city limits in CA feels just like living in the United States. I can shoot out of both doors and no one can say s#&*.

The 50 cal is completely legal in CA, It falls under the bolt action category, single shot rifle, unless one of the new laws coming out targeted the caliber or the fact that it is Black and as all smart people know that Black guns are more dangerous. :-(

As for the AK, if he removes the hi capacity magazine and adds a bullet button, he would be good.
