Thanks randy. Ya left windshield bar walked about 1/2 inch out but ill ratchet strap it to final location before final tie in. I swear story of my life lately... Nearly out of 1 3/4 agian. 8 tubes left then removal ( besides corner gussets) so I'm gaining on it slowly, believe it or not only about 8 ft scrap total (took me a few tries to get the b pillar bow as tight as possible to the roof). not too awful bad scrap wise, i may still have a few sections i can re-use elsewhere. I also came to the conclusion I'm going to saw the ass half off the old race truck project to make room for my new fab table. I go and pick it up tomarrow. I'm excited to have a decent sized table instead of my saw table. Shit part is I've given away 3 work benches and a fab table about 3 years ago. I called ims and buying a sheet is nearly double what this table cost but at least I don't have to add it to my to do list.

The top is nearly double+ castors+ material to make the legs+ brake+ time+ 125$ to cut a 4x8 sheet to 5'x4'.

Good score on the table. I've bought a few from Reliable in the past. Was watching the 25" x 34" sub plate with the 7/16-14 holes in it that just ended. Not that I have room for another but would have made a sweet fixture table

There's been a few really cool sub plates in the last couple years. They cost too much for me to pull the trigger on one, but they still go for waaaaaay less than they would new, or should go for. I want one, but not that bad.

Still, I'm happy with my 36" x 48" table. 1" thick top that I will some day drill & tap (was watching that mag drill they had too!). Not a Reliable score, but a sweet deal none the less.
It's awesome if you're able to work with the BIG/heavy stuff as most people aren't, so it goes cheap! I bought a 48" x 72" table for cheap, cut the top off it & had it water jet in half. I hacked up the base a little & welded half the top back onto this. Sold that portion of the table for more than I bought the thing for originally. It covered the legs/base and part of the casters I think. So with a bit of work I scored a very sweet table for less than the price of casters.

I've been tempted to turn some of the tables I see go through Reliable as they always sell super cheap. I always send links to buddies & post them on here, etc. but no one has yet to buy one that I've seen.

What I really wanted ( if dreams came true) is 5'x4' Blanchard ground 1 inch thick drilled and tapped every 2 inches squared but that would be a very very expensive top so ill go they way were thinking sub plate sitting on top and stored when not in use. If you ever see plate for cheap I could get one of my customers to drill and tap it for you. The thought crossed my mind to do it on my conventional as well. Then you could get a bunch of that stronghand clamp stuff to fixture up stuff. Why do the acorn tables go for so much?

No clue on the acorn tables, but got out of mine what I paid for it so I was happy!

As for the blanchard ground stuff - I'd love it but what I see myself doing doesn't need THAT much precision. My level table is close enough.
If I score a deal on a used mag drill, or if I get off my butt & borrow one of my buddies my table will be drilled & tapped. I'm thinking 5-6" OC though as every 2" would take me forever. I've got to get this done in a weekend afternoon or day if I can.

I paid $50 at a surplus metal yard for a 24" x 48" -3/4" steel plate. Then I made the frame from 1/4" L angle and added casters. My little mobile welding table. Total cost around $80:-) I have had it over ten years now.

For a friend we made a chassis setup table. We got a 5' x 10' - 1" thick plate. It was a plate they used to cover street work and was surprisingly straight. Paid $200 for the plate and made a frame with 10 gauge 2" x 5" steel tube and heavy duty casters. Total cost around $400. He has built a couple tube chassis's on it so far.

If I had a forklift I would have gone that route but was worried about building it solo. This thing has to weigh 500lbs.

I've built all my tables solo with no forklift. Base for the acorn table was the most interesting. A cherry picker & some ingenuity (+ time, & luck) made it happen.

Top of this one was 1330 lbs. Was only like 20x30 & too top heavy as it almost killed me moving it from my 1st house to the shop - so I sold it.
I thought it was one of those cast, web tables/inspection plate type things when I bid on the top from reliable as this was like 7-8 years ago or more & their pictures sucked back then!

This is my 1" top one I mentioned above. Moving it and flipping it over before I cut it in half & down to this was tricky!

Acorn table. I made the base & then jacked this one up with floor jacks & blocks to hold part of it & then a cherry picker for the other. I then rolled the base under it & dropped it. It was a bit scary at times but it worked

Yes they are heavy. I about had a hernia putting the 3/4" plate in and out of the back of my truck solo.

As for the chassis table, the yard had a forklift and put it on my car trailer. We built the frame with caster's and then used my Cherry picker to pull the plate off the trailer on to the frame. There was just two of us but it worked.

Tomarrow morn I should look like a monkey and a football lol I'm going to attempt to sling this table I just got and cherry pick it. I'm hoping without any issues but well see.

Good luck man. Been there done that solo quite a few times & it can be sketchy with chit this heavy. Go slow & be cautious. When you get in a rush your chances of getting hurt go way up!
