Wish it was mine, belongs to my father in law. I'm hoping I can do most of my work in there this winter. Gets a little cold here in Idaho.

Um no. Not for me, you can live there. I've lived in 2 of my shops and I'm over that. It was okay for my early 20's.BRONCOPASSION wrote:Unless you're shop was like this.Smart Alex wrote:That's cool that's all I got. Home shop is way better than living in a shop!

Re: RMC's el hefe build.
So my idea here is join the 2 B pillars with a floor bar (where the back seat passanger heals would be) lay it back to remove it, slide tha cage out the back. The b pillars will have 4 final connections. 2 the missing spoke section of the side star thingy, and 2 just bahind the cabs edge+ the 4 across the base of the windshield. I'm pretty sure I can do all the other joints in place.

Re: RMC's el hefe build.
Anyone know what this is? Just so I don't have to dig out the book. It was bolted up behind the passenger seat belt mechanism. Motion shock sensor of some kind perhaps?

I thought that was for the airbag. Could be wrong though.

Not sure but I ripped that whole harness out of mine. Didnt do anything negative that I can think of. I do have a chime that goes off every so often that I think may be for no seat belts nit I cant hear it with the bypasses singing and heasets onRmc wrote:Anyone know what this is? Re: RMC's el hefe build.
My guess was its some kind of accelerometer to lock the belts or air bag crap when inertia is applied. Reason I guess this is there's an arrow saying this face foreward on it. For now ill tuck it aside and see what the cover situation will be after everything is installed. Thanks for the feedback guys.

Looks good Robert. Are you going to tie in the sheet metal as well?

Yes after I re-install it the A pillars and B pillar cross will tie in with dimple panels. I also plan on the bottoms of the A pillars to the door jam (hinge side area below the dash)

Re: RMC's el hefe build.
It looks clean with minimal space being taken up. Are you putting the headliners back in?

No headliners, there's only about 1/8 inch between the tubes and roof. I have a little ways to go yet.

Headliner helps keep it reallllllly quiet. Just keep that in mind
With the 1/8" gap, you could pinch it in when you drop the cage to weld and paint.

Re: RMC's el hefe build.
Your right Tony, I think ill give it a shot when I drop it. It seems like all the moldings will go back in but the one piece at the seam of the shell is right where I intended on putting my dimple panels later on. Ill revisit it when I lift the cage back up. Worse case ill throw some dynamat up there and paint it. I guess I could always panel in a headliner too like some of the prerunners I've seen. I got alot to do before then though. I'd rather leave it out than have it look really unfinished but you got me thinking about it anyway which is a good thing.

You could put the dynomat in and the cover the roof tubes and the dynomat with one continuous piece of the head liner fabric. Use fabric glue to form fit it and fold the ends and cover with edge molding for a clean finished look. I have seen it done to keep the sound level down in the cab.
