What tranny fluid are you guys running in your E4OD? I dont mind spending the coin for the right stuff just dont know what to get.

Amsoil ATF. Even more important is a good trans cooler and temperature gauge.

Isnt there differnet types? like mercon v or dextron or somthing like that.

Amsoil synthetic tested best by Raybestos per one of their engineers who did all the tests.

I run Lucas Oil because I get it free, it works great, and I change it every 10000 miles.

at 17 quarts...fluid changes arent cheap.

How much is amsoil and where can I buy it? Anyone have a link to the atf testing? I drive my truck everyday but only put about 1500 miles on per year. I want to buy the best longest lasting fluid because its prob going to be years before it gets changed again

You wont find a link...it is internal engineering department testing...not something public.

I think its about $12/quart and you can get it online or at any amsoil dealer.

Im pretty sure Philo is an amsoil dealer. It was about $12.50 a quart last time i bought some. Severe gear is my favorate product that they offer. THE TRANS FLUID IS A CLOSE SECOND...

I'm using Schaeffer #204S ALL TRANS Supreme Transmission Fluid. I use the same stuff for power steering fluid...

Ken Mogi swears by Swepco. He says with all of his testing and eval, it performed the best at extreme temperatures and abuse. Mobil 1 was #2 on his list and that's what I run in mine.

Yeah, the longer I'm around racers the more I see Sweepco in their gear... Parkhouse uses it religously... last years 500 they saw tranny temps of 330+ (clogged filter outlet) and post race checks... the fluid was clear and clean, no tranny issues at all! They kicked ass!

Cant go wrong with Swepco. We have had a lot of good luck with Lucas Oil products too.

I keep my leaky transmission topped of with this, lol
