I appreciate that vid dust. So recently I had a discussion with a liberal about gun control, the points we discussed were what we all know to be true. 1st Australia and England both stood as examples of homicide and crime rates skyrocketing due to bans on firearms only applicable to law abiding citizens. With or without laws on paper lawbreakers still break the law. He brought up Mexican drug cartel violence and the fact that guns are illegal in Mexico. Which by his own admission backed up my point of view. The basic bottom line of the conversation was this: reguardless of what any sheet of paper has written on it the ones who don't respect what is written are willing participants of the words consequences. It's a conscious choice ignore the law and the penaltys associated as a result of breaking that law. A sheet of paper can't defend ones life or freedom. What the firearm is is a tool (we all recognise it's intended use) but whats more powerful than the use of this tool is what it represents, true and real consequences for ones actions. The firearm is the literal embodiment of true consequences contrary to self preservation. It is instinctual to all living things to preserve ones own life, a criminal is no different. The main reason home invasions, robberies, carjackings ect. are small in number is the known fear in a criminals conscious thought of who's armed and who's not. This unknown is evaluated in a criminal mind before a crime is committed. Prison is just part of the way of life chosen by the willing participants, it represents no penalty to the career criminal. In closing one single mind was changed. I say it's a nice place to start.

We can get into discussions on mental evaluations, 30 round mags ect but that is not the true driving force of crime rates. Suicides and Crimes of passion are unfortunate circumstances and poor choices made but have no true bearing on what a gun is or what it represents to both a criminal and bodies of government. Consequences.

Yawn. I (very recently) used to get worked up over this stuff but I'm over it. While I still believe the U.S. is the best place on the planet to live out your life and dreams, it's continually working it's way down the toilet and it ain't the place it used to be and it ain't the place our beloved service men and women have given so much for. I'll do my part to combat B.S. like this and educate those interested but I'm not going to let it affect my life. The nation around us will go further and further into unarmed socialism and there's not much we can do about it. It's human nature and was predicted by our great nation's founding fathers from the beginning. What will I do? Plan accordingly and take care of me and mine.

In the meantime, Screw the feds, screw the state and let's stop screwing GFB with political stuff.... yeah, I know I'm very guilty of this and I apologize for it.

No more downers. Let's see some guns!

Not a gun but an accessory. I changed my mind on this even though I love the way it feels and works. I should have checked that it fit both my M&P's but I didn't... only fits the full size and I want something that fits both.

For sale: Surefire X300. Used but in great condition, works perfectly, lifetime warranty. Comes with accessories.

More info here: http://www.surefire.com/x300-ultra-led-weaponlight.html

$150 shipped and insured.

For when you just can't make up your mind... ha!

It was the door panel that intrigued me, though. Not the gun.

Going old school on us? I'm not into revolvers but I do dig the 8-shot factor.

Gun was AWESOME and Dad one quite a few competitions back East with it.... Loved that gun

FYI revolvers make the best handguns for home defense especially for wives, when in a heart thumping scared out of your mind staring at a perp moment. You don't have to think about did I chamber this thing? is the safety off? Ect. I bought my wife a snub nose 38 years ago for this reason. Revolvers just plain work. That s&w is a very nice piece.

To each his (her) own. Revolvers do a fine job but we're a polymer and semi-auto family. My wife doesn't have to check to make sure her gun has a round in the chamber because it always does and so does mine. Even though it doesn't change, it's verified at least once a week. In my experience, women like small revolvers until it comes time to shoot them. Different strokes for different folks....

I do agree with you on the safety part, though. We specifically bought handguns without safeties. No-nonsense, ready to go!

Just got this from my local range in an email...

There are several anti-gun bills now on final reading in both the state Senate and Assembly. It is imperative that you, your family, friends, fellow gun owners, sportsmen and Second Amendment supporters contact your state legislators IMMEDIATELY urging them to OPPOSE the anti-gun bills listed below.

Senate Bill 53 (DeLeon) would require Californians to obtain a permit BEFORE purchasing ammunition, require a background check before every future ammunition purchase and require registration of ALL ammunition that you purchase.

Senate Bill 47 (Yee) would ban the use of the "bullet button" on semi-automatic rifles to comply with current law and classify firearms with "bullet buttons" as "assault weapons" and ban their future sale/transfer. Continued legal possession by YOU would require that you REGISTER and pay a FEE (TAX) on ALL of your semi-autos with “bullet buttons.”

Senate Bill 374 (Steinberg) bans the sale of all semiautomatic centerfire rifles with a detachable magazine, even with bullet buttons attached and redefines these firearms as “assault weapons.” This legislation would ban most common hunting rifles including the Marlin Camp Carbines (.45acp and 9mm), Remington M81 “Woodmaster, Winchester M1905, BAR MK II, BAR Short Trac, Ruger Mini 14, Ruger Ranch Rifle, M1 Carbine, just to name a few of the rifles that are affected by this gun ban. SB 374 would also require registration of currently owned detachable magazine rifles.

Senate Bill 396 (Hancock) bans the possession of all standard capacity magazines over ten rounds and would require confiscation of these magazines that are currently lawfully possessed.

Senate Bill 567 (Jackson) redefines shotguns to include any firearm that may be fired through a rifled bore or smooth bore, regardless of whether it is designed to be fired from the shoulder. SB 567 also bans the sale of shotguns that have a revolving cylinder and requires registration of these currently owned shotguns.

Senate Bill 683 (Block) expands California’s handgun safety certificate requirement to apply to all firearms, and would prohibit anyone from purchasing or transferring any firearm without a firearm safety certificate.

Assembly Bill 231 (Ting) expands the law relating to the storage of firearms. This bill does nothing to reduce California's violent crime problem and only turns law-abiding gun owners into criminals whether or not anything harmful actually happens, and regardless of whether there was any misconduct on the part of the gun owner. Ultimately, AB 231 is a misguided proposal that imposes unprecedented liability on those who choose to exercise their fundamental right to keep and bear arms. Contact your state Senator TODAY and urge him or her to oppose AB 231.

Assembly Bill 711 (Rendon) would make California the first state in the nation to prohibit the use of all lead ammunition for hunting. Extensive research has shown that traditional lead ammunition does NOT pose a health hazard for hunters and despite 99% hunter compliance, the AB 821 lead ammunition ban has failed to reduce lead poisoning in condors. Contact your state Senator TODAY and urge him or her to oppose AB 711.

Folks PLEASE contact your representatives. The NRA has a link here:

http://www.nraila.org/get-involved-loca ... -reps.aspx

and here:

http://www.nraila.org/legislation/state ... ?s=&st=&ps

And they are asking for a massive campaign for everyone to contact TODAY (Monday the 26th):

Speaker of the Assembly John Perez
Phone: (916) 319-2053
Fax: (916) 319-2153
