Re: Kel Fab Creations Bronco Build
That bolt could most likely still be shanked in that application - you'd just have less thread engagement possibly due to cutting the threads short to make them not bottom out in the machined piece.
Shankability (new word!) will depend on bolt length availability. For most of the bigger bolts they jump to 1/2" increases in size vs/ 1/4" increments like the smaller stuff. This is where it can get tricky with shanking. Nothing a well sized weld washer can't usually fix though!

Re: Kel Fab Creations Bronco Build
Damnit! Someone finally (maybe recently is a better term) did this...
I've been thinking for a while how simple/strong a radius arm would be with a single tube & half a square/rectangle tube.
Needless to say - I like it.

Re: Kel Fab Creations Bronco Build
I'd love to powdercoat it all but me being a cheapskate really makes that hard. Lol. I've never powdercoated any of my stuff... Not sure where I'd take it or how much it would be or how long it would take. If I painted them I could do it at work for free and would be ready to install back on the truck Wednesday. Oh choices...

Cool, thanks man! I just found out I won't be able to use the paint booth at work for a few weeks. I may have to do the powdercoat. Is the Riverside guy better/cheaper? I work in Riverside...

Re: Kel Fab Creations Bronco Build
If you use r&r tell him joe sent you, he will hook u up, if you use california tool and engineering ( off rickenbacker and jarupa near vanburen )talk to Garrett tell him Robert from haas sent you( my old company) he will also hook u up. Garrett is very reasonable as long as its not a rush order, he will throw your stuff in with someone else's, if its rush it expensive due to having to heat the oven. Last I talked to him he would pc a set of wheels for 125$ but that's my guy, compare both.

I'm gonna try California tool tomorrow. What's the name of the place by you Tony? Any guesses on how much the pictured parts above should cost?

Re: Kel Fab Creations Bronco Build
Not really shure what going rate is, but that dude sand blasts each part before hand, if u want silver I left 50lbs of it over there about 1.5 years ago. If the powder is still good u could get it for free( powder on my dime) I have no idea the shelf life of that stuff though, I don't know if he would remember but he did a trailer load of panels for me. He recoated an rgv systems enclosure. Rgv= remote guided vehicle( a robot that serves CNC machines work pieces)

Garrett was coating walker Evans wheels last time I went through, that and cst lift kits but stuff always changes. Haven't used him in a while. I have his cell if u need it. I would guess no more than 200 to 250 but agian I don't know what powdercoaters charge.

Re: Kel Fab Creations Bronco Build
Hate to hijack but have a question about these. What size tubing did you use? I need to replace all of mine and dont want to get raped by lmc for stockers. Hyjack complete, keep up the awesome work kel.ChaseTruck754 wrote:are you counting all the "pads" under the rear cargo area? I've got the poly mounts on my crew. I think I have the energy ones vs. the prothane. I can't remember which. I do know the best price I was able to find on them was on Amazon though - so have a look there.
Also one thing to note is they don't sell the steel inner sleeve kit thing with poly kit & trying to get the ones out of your stock mounts without destroying them may be a tough ordeal. You can buy the new inner sleeves from LMC truck though, or I've even gotten them from the dealer in the past & I don't remember it costing a ton. that was about 10-12 years ago now though.
I built these to go through mine

Re: Kel Fab Creations Bronco Build
I'm curious on this too. The sleeves look machined though so probably not a regular size?
