Agreed. I remember for a long time the one major critiqued issue with all the bigger Hondas of that era was the head shake. Especially the 250's and up in the late 80's to early mid 90's. It was like they were considered perfect machines besides the head shake that was too big to ignore at higher speed. I think i even remember Tom Webb jokingly slamming them for it as the only thing they couldn't get right in stock moto bikes and the XR's. McGrath had that custom fitted 93 CR250 that he raced until like 97 that they supposedly eliminated the head shake and just kept changing the plastics, etc. Used to love that era in the early 90's though, when they wouldn't just test the MX'ers but they'd also race a full Baja 1K with a team just to test an XR in dirt rider!? Service bed, GONE! 121$ for 1350#'s at the scrap yard. Almost paid for My new gooseneck hitch. Scored a Cody hitch of CL for 200$.
Had to modify the mounts as they were for a Cheby and they don't make bolt on mounts for OBS Ferds. The mounts were a little cheesy anyway.......
Apparently the welded spring broke a while back...........
Got a new"er" Bronco pack and di the old mix and match to make a new pack that will not rattle My teeth out but still tow. Think a NAS bolt is overkill for a leaf pin? Worked out to be the perfect shank length. Just had to turn the head down a little on the chopsaw lathe..........
