still collecting parts for it, we ended up buying a new extremely clean ranger to get a fresh start so the that set us back a bit but we will be getting the ball rolling soon.

Not to derail the topic but by chance would either one of you know who would be interested in a camburg shackle kit for a ranger? Its brand new.

Got a little work done today. Lower bj ears are tacked, radius arm pivots are made, mock up radius arms are made.

Yeah, it pretty much took me all day to design and weld rad arm brackets and make mock up rad arms lol. But I make up for the SLOW design process by punching out duplicates later! You don't even wanna know how much time I have into designing the first set of TTB mounts! Remember slow and steady wins the race. :D

Very nice work man!

Have you considered running a simple cross-tie between the radius arm brackets? I know Keifer's setup does, and helps keep them from twisting the frame on harder hits.

I have thought about this but haven't got around to it yet. I first realized the need for this building ranger kits. On the rangers I mount the pivots inline with the new trans crossmember i make. For the crossmember mounting tabs on the pivots I used to slot the hole for easy install. My brother stuffed his truck into a ditch and since the bolts were neutral in the slot they allowed the frame to twist till it hit the other side of the slot. Needless to say, I no longer slot those holes.

I think for a bronco it wouldn't be needed as much since the trans cross is a couple inches from the pivots. In comparison, the closest crossmember on the rangers is behind the cab. Seems a little silly to me to put a crossmember so close to one another but I'll probably make one.

Have you seen any bronco/f150 with the pivots mounted near where mine are twist the frame because they didn't have a pivot crossmember?

Not specifically. Just asking out of curiosity mostly. Everyone does their build differently. It's always interesting to see why certain things are done or not done.

It also has a lot to do with how wide the beams are. The wider the beam, the more of a torsional load on the frame/radius arm mounts.

So, I ran into a big problem last night. I sleeved the axles and threw them in to cycle. The slip joint u-joint needs to be clearanced. Not a big deal. I've seen a pic of one clearanced but haven't heard many people bringing it up so I figured most don't do this? The bigger problem is with my now 1 3/4'' OD axle binding inside the pass side port hole. With the driver beam fully drooped the pass. axle binds from ride height up. I have started clearancing the beam but I still have alot to go it seems. I'm gonna clock the diff and see if that will help much. I know the place I extended the beams isn't done much but I have seen it done before. Is this why everyone extends them near the rad arm bolt holes? LOL. These are the one thing on the truck I'm not gonna make fixtures for and sell because I hate tracking down junkyard parts and hacking them up so if these end up funky,different, pain to duplicate or whatever I don't really care. I just want it to work. I have a few ideas to beef up the port area after the full clearancing. I REALLY don't wanna start over on these dang things. Opinions?

How much of your problem is coming from the axle OD now that it's sleeved, and how much is do to geometry? I'm having somewhat of a hard time visualizing how much interference there is....

Sorry, I guess the pic doesn't explain that much. With that big cutout the axle is still hitting at ride height and up. It's a geometry problem for sure, the bigger axles just makes it worse. If this was for anyone other than myself I would be starting over but I wanna get this thing on the road like yesterday.
