ABS removal question......
If I remove the ABS pump and electronics on my 93 (including the module on the core support) I know I will obviously get an "ABS" light on my dash. My question is - Will I also get a CEL light or are the two systems completely divorced in the ECU?
Re: ABS removal question......
There is a way to uninstall the entire system. There is a thread on FSB and maybe one on here. No lights, like it was never installed from the factory.

Re: ABS removal question......
The two systems are separate but I think the speed sensor runs through the abs computer so you have to make sure to reconnect those wires so the ecu still gets your speed.
My car is a hybrid; it burns gas and rubber.

Re: ABS removal question......
I did this a few months ago. It looks over whelming at first but once the ball gets rolling it wasn't bad at all.I tweaked out and rerouted a bunch of stuff in the process. well worth the time and effort.

Re: ABS Controller
In case we have new to Ford tesch stuff persons reading this thread. Please read on.
Just curious. Why go to the trouble of removing the ABS stuff described in the posts?
Could be the system is defective?
Could be the few pounds needs to be shed for weight savings?
For sure it none of the tesch stuff describes is to defeat the ABS
My rig has a switch that turns of ABS so I can lock up all 4 wheels. No issues with anything in the rig when ABS is turned off. Just a dash ABS light. No MIL/check engine light. Tranny and speedo work as normal. Switch the system back on and restart the motor and its back to stock with ABS like Ford designed. Takes about 45 minutes to install a remote fuse and a wire to the dash to a new switch.
ABS is always off when off road and always on when on the highway. Dirt simple.

Re: ABS Controller
Will deleting the abs pump/wiring/controller effect the Cruise Control feature? I know some brake stuff will not allow CC to function.

CC will still work if you hook the VSS back up.

Re: ABS Controller
Was anybody able to locate factory hardlines out of something pre ABS to go from master cylinder to the frame and the junction? I am going to delete the ABS garbage and would like factory hardlines and junction for the two front lines and union for the rear line.

Re: ABS Controller
Also did anybody remove the 4 relay box for trailer and abs after doing this delete? Seems like 1 more thing to mount that isn't used. I didn't get any hits on search for "4 trailer relay"

Re: ABS Controller
I got rid of everything. Pump, computer, all the wiring, relays. Took a little while to button it all up and look pretty but you'd never know any of it was there now. I'll try an find the wrote up I used. It was very good.

I print out all the pics from the thread and went at it. Well worth the time to do if right in my opinion.
