anyone live in vegas?

anyone here live in vegas or henderson, how do you like it? i have always thought it would be a neat place to live. i have other questions, but i will wait to see if someone here lives there first.

I lived in Vegas for a few years. I went there to open a shop with my best friend. It was cool living there. You learn quickly that all the glitz and glamour wear off pretty quick. After you become a local you do what the locals do and go where the locals go.

well i am mostly interested in if you can really just drive 15 minutes and just turn off a road and into the desert and haul ass. the casinos and Broadway type shows are no interest to me at all. and i am accustom to city living and the company i work for has a couple of stores there i could potentially transfer to.

Depending on where you live, yes you can pull off a road and have endless amounts of desert to travel. If you live closer to the center of Vegas, maybe not as exaggerated as 15 minutes but 20 - 30 minutes out of town and you have a few sections of different race courses and endless desert to explore.

One thing for sure, living out west is MUCH different than living back in the south east. The weather, by far, is a huge difference... both can be unbearable during the summer... but during the winter, it's absolutely wonderful out west. Plus you have the added bonus of not enduring the damn rains like you have back there. Philo can give you a really good idea even though he doesn't live in Vegas, Bullhead city is a good replication of the desert living. Personally, I'd much rather live out west vice back east... too many pluses out here vice back there... not near as many flying insects too!

well i have asthma and allergies. the next to no humidity would be great. it looks like it is hotter in the summer by about 10 degs on average, but with the super low humidity i bet it doesn't feel as bad.

I lived in Vegas for 6 months for a construction project. It is a Gold Plated Turd, full of broken dreams and trannies. oh and tweakers.

But if you can get outside of town and keep away from the crowd it would be tollerabe. I was there in the summer and it was hell. My A/C Tech made more dough than the Project manager...

I can also say That lining up multiple job offers well in advance and flying out to see your new position with your own eyes is money well spent...

Born and raised, I love it here. Vegas is very central to everything i llke to do, desert race, sand dune, hunt' fish. What do you want to know?

it looks like this is a none issue anytime soon. ending up buying a new mustang instead, haha.
