Looking good Mikey!

By the way, I mounted my GPS in the same position as yours and it vibrated like crazy. Just an fyi, not sure if you'll have the same problem but it was hard to read it when it was bouncing like crazy.

I think the 1/8 aluminum plate I have it tied into keeps it pretty darn stable. It's been in there for probably 5 trips with no issues. Oh wait one issue, I keep loosing the sheet metal screws that hold the plate on.

Agreed on this too, thanks for the honest follow-up on it though Mike. I was thinking about doing a tan or brown liner on the flooring instead of black.

I used stockinteriors.com for replacement carpet for my superduty. After some trimming it fit in pretty decent. I'd definitely say carpet makes your ride way more comfortable.

I would imagine with all your cage work in the way it would be hard to get that carpet to fit well. My factory carpet in the bronco doesn't fit well because of the cage...

Looks good brother. Are you driving this monster to Vegas this weekend?

Yeah your woman told me to order the carpet from there and I did. and yeah I am sure the cage didn't help matters. I just wasn't happy with how well it fit the tunnel and what not, I mean, it's not bad, but it isn't as good as it could have been.

All and all I am very happy with the carpet and would recommend it to some, it's just not OEM carpet and the price reflects that IMO.

Yes I am taking the dirt to Primm from Yermo

Did you add the mass backing or get the standard carpet? I have vinyl front on mine and nothing in the back. I'm debating whether to get vinyl for the rear or get new carpet front to back. Did you put down any dynomat or anything before?

I got the standard carpet. I mean it's an off road truck how long is the carpet going to look nice anyways ya know?

And yeah I put down a layer of peel and seal to seal up all the holes in the bottom of the cab. If you aren't familiar with peel and seal, they sell it at home depot of the roofing section, it's cheap, dense, and does the job.

the mass backing is for better sound deadening/heat.

I looked up the peel n seal stuff and people say it smells horrible when it gets heated up beyond 80 degrees. Did the stuff you get have a foil back? Some guys said to seal the edges with foil tape to trap the smell.

I've used the peel and seal from home depot in 4 trucks now, and have never had a problem with a smell and it's been tested in the triple digits on certain off road trips, It don't install it all the way up the firewall though, just up the diagonal section to where it goes versicle.

As for the carpet, I am sure the better backing is better, but I couldn't justify the extra expense in a prominently off road only truck.

I am not a princess and the pea kind of a person (not that you are) so maybe my opinion isn't the opinion you are looking for, but lets put it this way, I spend most of my time outside of work, dirty, greasy, and in my work boots, tinkering in the garage, and when i get in the bronco, it's like a new car compared to what it used to be. Hell my daily driver, I wont even drive it unless I go in the house, wash up, and change my clothes, and I still somehow get it stained and dirty.

Haha, never heard of the princess and the pea so I google it. Hopefully I can get that on netflix. lol.

I know my truck isn't gonna be perfect I'm just trying to make informed decisions from hearing first hand experiences to limit the amount of things that may have to be redone later. Thanks for the info.

Oh no totally, I am just saying I don't know if my opinions is the opinion you want to take, I am pretty easy going when it comes to most things, and some people are more particular. Either way I am leaving to Vegas in a few hours. Wish me luck!
