can you put a video of it with the spintech to know how it sounds. I am considering buying one since mine has no muffler on it currently.

I think I can manage that but you are going to have to wait I need a new carb first. The one on the truck is stumbling real real bad, needs to be gone though!

Modded my gate shifter!
Lucky 13

Drove it to my buddies house to help him on a little fab project and blew the brake light fuse half way there.

My buddy Max to the rescue with his plethora of snap on and electrical troubleshooting tools.

Trail fix in the front yard? We just ran a whole new wire to the tail light and daisy chained it to the passenger side. Should do for now. And what I mean for now is it should do till I get around to rewiring this whole truck.

White Lightning is like an old girlfriend you think you didn't want until she's in a new relationship and looks way happier, lmao. Thanks for keeping her on the road and dirt Mikey!

LMAO!!! That is so true. I keep tabs on my old Jeep Cherokee the exact same way Chris.
Mike, we need to wheel man! When are you coordinating another trip on the Mojave trail or something like that! Chris keeps pushing me to want to do that trail, and I have finally jumped in the water, I am on board to do a run like that!!
Re: Mike's Ocho Cuatro Bronco build aka White Lightning
I have a brilliant idea... Fix the slave on the ranger and you will have more green! Haha Jk. No but seriously that would be awesome.only1mikey wrote:Chris, it's great to have your blessing! Thanks bud! More coming, I just need more green paper!

Btw I'm super jealous of the shifter. I ordered mine 2 weeks ago and still nothing. They won't even return my emails... Super bummed.
I have a spare room if you want to come Down for a weekend and help finish my bronco haha...
Keep up the awesome work,

Re: Mike's Ocho Cuatro Bronco build aka White Lightning
Gears arrived on Friday!

Both diffs are out!

Glad I did because I found out my passenger side axle was locked the whole time, I think I put the hub together wrong or something. It will be fixed.
Been putting this off for a while now... starting doing the 5/8" stud conversion.

One down three more to go!

And a few days ago I modified my shifter

My family came to visit me on Saturday so I didn't get as much done this weekend as I could have liked, but I'll start at it again tonight!

Just lots of drilling and pressing, or if you are me, lots of swings with the sledge, as I don't have a press.
Pictureless update. Both rear axles are done and I TIG-tacked the studs in since some of them weren't the tightest.
Fronts coming tonight!

Front hubs are drilled and pressed (hammered) in. I got my diffs back last night and was so excited I installed the rear diff, fluid and all, so what if it was 11pm at night when I started. Sleep is for the weak!
Tonight the front end getting prepped and put back together. I'll take pictures and report back on how I like he 4.56's without overdrive.

You're on 35s right? I'm thinking about recycling the old rear end from my Bronco into my 71, but not sure how 35s, 4.56, and a Turbo 400 will be on the street. 3300+ RPMs seems like a lot for running 75 mph. 4.10s might be a better choice.only1mikey wrote:Tonight the front end getting prepped and put back together. Too late... It's a desert toy first and foremost, so if I gotta go the speed limit on the freeway to and from, it is what it is.philofab wrote:You're on 35s right? I want some power off road and highway speeds were a sacrifice I was willing to take.

Some buddy and myself have been talking about the 500. I don't know though, it's so damn costly gas wise.

Re: Mike's Ocho Cuatro Bronco build aka White Lightning
Alright, I drove this beast to Huntington Beach and back this past weekend. I got there no issues but the bitch decided to throw the alternator belt before I even got on the freeway leaving Sunday night. Made it to O'Reilly's 3 minutes before they closed and bought every sized belt they showed for my truck (turned out to be the shortest one) and fixed it in the parking low in 20 minutes. No biggie. There was a fire over the weekend right next to the 405 freeway north of Santa Monica, so I though I'd be smart and take the 710 to the 5 and go around it. No dice, the truck died on the freeway a few miles from the 710 5 interchange. I coasted to a parking lot and after some pushing and cursing I got the thing out of harms way. Tried a few things but it was past 10pm and I had to work the next day, so I called AAA and got a tow home.
Monday after work I found out no spark, so I knew it was something with the coil/distributor, pulled the cap to find the rotor turned with the truck was cranking over. Looked over the wiring and there it was. A wire broke off the coil wiring so I rewired a few things and got rid of some mess. Fired right up and I have been driving her since with no issues.
I finally bought a new (to me) Carb. BigTex on here is hooking me up! Should be a good to go in the dirt now and no more stumbling and stalling. Thanks Bud!
I hope you all enjoy this pictureless, long, drawn out update.
