I wanted to replace the switch to see if this would cure the cruise control non-working problem.
Bought the switch and pigtail from rockauto.com (Motorcraft part) for less than $10, installed in a couple minutes and CC works like it should.

I called the dealer and they said they would only install the pigtail and leave the switch.
