Spring plates for 2.5" wide springs

Kind of a long shot here, but maybe Philo has some around???

Looking for the piece that is on top of the leaf here (with the 4 u-bolts coming through it) if it's not clear what I need.

I have multiple ones for 3" wide leafs (I'll gladly trade a set if you like!) but I've given away all the ones I've had for the narrower leafs.

Looking for ones off an F-250 or 350 2wd as they'd have the larger axle tubes like the 60 in my truck. If I cant find some I;ll make them but I'm being lazy & trying this 1st!

Thanks - I just saw the ones with shock mounts already welded on them there.

I know many guys just toss these so I was hoping to pick up a set cheap or free. I typically give them away of a guy on here needs them.

You might want to try this:

On my Bronco with 2.5" springs I welded a piece of plate to each side of the spring plate to act as a brace for the spring pack and to take up the additional space. It started originally because I was in your exact position and I wanted to put the car together and I did not have the 2.5 plates. But now I have been running it this way for 5 years and many tough miles and it has worked flawlessly.

Hmm - good idea Dave - thanks. I was just going to run the 3" wide plates for mock up, until I found some 2.5" wide ones but I may just have to do what you did. Looks like the side plates are welded to the spring plate too - right?

Hey Steve,
Are you going to run the shock mounts on the top like Daves? If so, using the 3" plates will be better for you anyway. When you space the shock on the top of the spring plate you'll find the extra room with the 3" vice 2½" adds some flexibilty that you might welcome in the future due to potential interference with U-bolts depending on your configuration. Just a thought...

At this point the plan is NOT to run the shocks up top like that. As this thing progresses a bit here in the next few weeks that may change, but as of right now I'm using the stock shock mounts off axle and then making an upper mount similar to what guys make for under the broncos. My plans are always changing though so who knows.

Yeah, that's what happened to me... as I migrated my shocks to the top of the spring pad, it all worked well, but when I transitioned to dual shocks, I had some fitment issues to deal with one of them (issues) being the impingement of the bottom shock eye bolts interfering with the u-bolts... I also considered (and still might) going to 2.5" rear springs and I'd HAVE to use the 3.0" spring plate just to mount the shocks... there may come a time where you might want to remount to the top of the spring plate... just random thoughts for the future. It's not like you can't change the spring plates out in the future if you do change configuration!
