Re: BBQ Grills
Our coastal red oak is where its at for amazing flavor. I only cook over oak. It's not fast, convenient, or as easy as gas or charcoal but im spoiled on it. I built my own bbq a long time ago and its ugly and rusted but cooks like a champ. I'll see if I have a pic of how I built it, pretty simple design.

Re: BBQ Grills
I agree, nothing like real central coast bbq! I'm going to play around with some different woods and see what kind of flavors they give. Next week i'm going to do my first hickory smoked brisket, i'm kind of intimidated, but excited to give it a try.kylesgorter wrote:Our coastal red oak is where its at for amazing flavor. Nick, I have been using that same model of Web Kettle for about 5 years. The work surface is handy and rollers are nice! They work great only thing missing is the sand from the beach... ...

You can get wine soaked red oak chips which I've used before while camping and it turned out good. Just watch the temp, cook it low and slow and ilt should turn out good.
Re: BBQ Grills
One of the best things about life, I must say, is bbq. And people really make it something to be enjoyed all the more with the lot of different things that they have going with it.
My most favorite recipe would have to be a simple pepper rubbed piece of meat cooked with very light bbq sauce. I like the char taste it gives when cooked slowly and at proper levels.
