Opened up the holes in the pitman and swinger to .6250, then turned .027 off of the misalignment bushings for a nice snug fit. Progress will be slow as usual, but the Bronco has to be back online for a June family vacation, so...motivation!

I'm not critiquing you work but why does the swinger have the angle built into it instead of just straight down. All the holes are in line so whats the reasoning behind that? I've seen it built both ways but I just started my steering build and would rather not learn the hard way.

The center link is applying force between two points of resistance, so tje extra material prevents flex and ultimately failure of the swinger. Make sense?
That make sense. Thanks.
I actually bought my swinger off you at the 2011 leduc swapmeet. Finally getting around to finishing it.

No way! Haha! I would have to get $2500 minimum to justify it and I'm sure I wouldn't sell many at that price. Just so everyone knows...this wouldn't be happening if it wasn't for Andy Blehi. Thanks Andy! He's picking up the tab and I'm going to build one for him too. I think it's going to work out as a sweet deal for both of us. A little hard work and I get free steering. Can't beat that!

Post as many pics and as much info as possible on the steering! I may touch my Bronco again one day and can use all the info/pics I can get.
Loving the work. Wish I had the talent you do.

Thanks Trevor! Just for you, I'll go snap a picture or two in a couple minutes. It's getting close to completion. Still have re-assembly and final checks to do, but should be done for sure this weekend. Happy father's day to me!

Took some bigger bends than I would have liked to achieve adequate clearance in all positions. Some of that is due to the pitman and swinger design. The more I played with it, the (blinder I got. Haha!) ...the more I realized how much I wanted double swing, but I'm sure this is going to work just fine. Not much toe change at all.

Thanks Andy! I just don't like the 22ish degree bend on the passenger link. I've seen it many times on different rigs, but goes against my way of thinking. Maybe the good side is it will absorb hard impacts and save the sector shaft. Haha!

I'm sure it'll work great! Don't over think it! My recent post in the steering thread:
SteveG wrote:I don't have a ton of experience with crossover steering systems, but what little experience I do have with it has led me to my own personal conclusion that the steering pivot points are not incredibly critical. Yes, you need to put plenty of thought into it but I think in the end (for most builds), it comes down to packaging more than "perfect" geometry. To those that argue this, I would present all the different bad ass TTB/TIB trucks that are built completely differently but still work very well. I would also present the many different theories on the pitman arm pivot... that also work well.
Sho nuff,
SteveG
