The race project is a roller now. Here's a few pictures. Drive axles, brakes, steering, suspenison all done. Time to start on the body and cage.

Am I seeing that right Chris? Are you by chance changing the rake of the frame to achieve more bump travel?

How far back is that motor compared to stock? What travel numbers are you getting with that link setup?

Build the truck around the suspension... that's the right way to do it for sure.

The engine is in the stock location using Autofab motor mounts, but we replaced the bushings with machined aluminum pucks. We have 20" front travel and 24" rear travel. Although the leafs are not in it yet and it may not droop out all the way with leafs installed. It did with our mock up leaf but once the full pack is installed and has some miles on it it may loose some arch. The frame rake you see is just a function of where we set the ride height. Right now it's just sitting on metal spacers. The rear spacer is too tall.

Track... what you asked is more than somewhat vague. As far as the beams go, I have a set in the classified parts section, that would probably suit your needs.

Most questions you might have can be answered by reading through the threads, but nothing beats trial and error... and the majority of builders wont just tell you how to do everything... but if you ask the right questions, you'll get some really good direction.

On that note, I'm pretty sure its time to move into a build thread Chris... Ill start it if you need me to, haha.

If you want to move my stuff out of go-fast-front-suspension and also out of go-fast-rear-suspension, into a build thread, then I will add to it with more stuff. Please title it "Straightiff/Wilson Class 3 build". I have lots of photos.

I'm sure if you sent one of these fabricators that make a living building these, along with other stuff, $400 they would be glad to give you a sketch of something that they have spent a lot of time figuring out.

If i was one of those builder fabricators I would charge for plans at the amount of two times what the sells them for. Then make you sign a non disclose agreement so he can sue you if you show the plans to someone else.

Its simple really. Just cut the beams where ever you want, and plate them.. I recommend cutting the beam end at a 35* angle from the top down, then put whatever size extensions you want to go with, weld them in an plate them. After that all you have to do is the C&T. You cut out the lower ball joint, and move the passenger side one out .006, and then on the driver side move it out .002, weld them back in. Works perfect!
