Yeah, we have a 10-22 and everyone loves "Playing" with it but i couldn't imagine it standing up to some of the cool/fun factors of the m&p. I'd have kids standing in line for that thing! and i have enough for a line! Ha ha

You are lucky to live in a country where you can own that, for the joy of it.
I m jealous because in Canada, not a chance, best i can get is an SKS , or an M14.
I would almost emigrate for that.

Re: The Gun Thread
Very nice, Chris! Kelci likes shooting waaaaay more than I expected. I put up a silhouette in the back yard this past Saturday and asked her if she wanted to practice a bit. She said she only wanted to shoot a couple rounds. Yeah right. A couple rounds turned into 5-6 magazines worth.
Sorry, no photos. Next time!

I went by The Outdoorsman today... about $400 for the M&P 15-22. Time to start saving my pennies. I might have to sell the Bronco to pay for my new hobby!

Might wanna keep a 'Bug-Out' rig just in case... You could cut a turret hole in a used craigslist shell though!SteveG wrote:I went by The Outdoorsman today... about $400 for the M&P 15-22. Time to start saving my pennies. I might have to sell the Bronco to pay for my new hobby!

I've been trying to balance gun purchasing and finishing my Bronco lately too. I have a pretty short list of guns/accessories and i'll feel "Done" for awhile. New rifle safe, either the walmart sentry "10-Gun" (like $349ish) or the $500 costco one (Trying to pinch pennies here). Then, i'm buying a socom II, another Remington 870 but just a totally fun, tactical frankengun and one more glock (22 or 23). Then i'm gonna chill out awhile. Already have a decent armory goin but those are what i want to round it off... Besides maybe Steve ruining/adding to the list with the 15-22 ha ha wife's bummed jk

Re: The Gun Thread
I'm good after the 15-22. The only other gun I might like to get is a .22 M&P handgun for the wife to practice with and for cheap plinking.

I am glad to see others struggle with their addictions and that their "play"money is split. At least I am not alone. Oh and by the way go for the socom. Just finished mine in a Troy stock with a 1x4 trijicon scope in a larue mount. I am now holding off on guns for a while.economig wrote:I've been trying to balance gun purchasing and finishing my Bronco lately too. Oh man... My good buddy bought one from a friend of a friend (FFL Broker) brand new, extra mags, total $1400 (reedic IMO). I could've gotten one too but i was kinda strapped for cash. He took it shooting once (with new scope) and later finds out his kid got accepted to an expensive school. calls me about the fire sale and i told him i could do 1200 asapdamon1272 wrote: I am glad to see others struggle with their addictions and that their "play"money is split. Steve,
Here is some pics of the 15/22. Collapsed length on the butt stock is 32". Broken down it is 24".
This should change your mind on going with the Ruger. With a 1x3 scope it is a blast to shoot.

Re: The Gun Thread
I like it! I can't decide what I want first. The MP15-22 or the mp-22 pistol. Supposedly my in-laws are giving us a .22 rifle (don't have any idea what it is), so maybe the pistol. My justification is that is that over the course of a few years it will more than pay for itself in ammo savings for target practice. Right?

Re: The Gun Thread
Using the 22 to train with will cut costs considerably and in a while will definitely pay for itself.
