95 Bronco Build!
95 Bronco Build!
Time for a new project. My Dad gave me this truck after daily driving it for 15 years. It's got a ton of history. I took my high school girlfriend to the winter formal in this thing, I burnt the carpet in the cargo area from a hot bbq on my 21st birthday (dont ask), and I've spent countless hours in it with my Dad making great memories. Hell it even got stolen one time and ended up just north of the border, thank god! It's got 290,000 miles, it's second transmission has over 150,000 miles, it's got a fresh set of heads, but the bottom end of the motor is still clicking away! It leaks a quart of oil every couple weeks, but the picture below shows that she can still prerun a 42 mile race course that had a 17% finishing rate!
I have been stock piling parts over the last few months, here's what I have:
Front Suspension
Solo cut and turned beams - I am going to extend them
SAW 2.5x14 coilovers
Camburg radius arms on 1.25 heims with pivot boxes, and a crossmember made by Southwest
An engine cage built by Chad Mcneil
Rear Suspension
Deaver F64 Leaf pack
King 2.5x12 double bypass'
Giant Shackles
Misc
The 9" from my old Toyota, trussed, disc brakes
12 Volt fridge
35" BFG Bajas
Mastercraft drive shaft loop
Super nice insulated plug wires
Die hard platinum battery
Front glass (hood and bedsides are on their way)
Race Radio
First plan is to get all this stuff installed, build some bumpers, and take it out! Cage is on the list too.

I dont think I would have been able to pre run the course after the 1st heat, it was really tore up!
I am already in the process of drilling out a million spot welds for the fenders, Broncos have to be the only vehicle where the bedsides are easier to install!.

I had to drive on about 15 miles of the course from the NE corner to find a 5 car on Saturday night.... beat to hell. I actually had to put it in 4wd for a section.
What bedsides are you doing? Regular or TT/Retro?

Re: 95 Bronco Build!
Just regular 3" flare bedsides. I want to keep this truck nice and simple.
Re: 95 Bronco Build!
Finally finished splitting the drivers side fender, quite a task, cant exactly say I'm looking forward to the other side. Working on race trucks is so much easier.
Re: 95 Bronco Build!
Here's how its turning out, the fender is not completely buttoned down so it will be lined up even better when all is said and done, I'm pretty happy with the fit and looks.
Re: 95 Bronco Build!
35 and glass, next up will be extending the beams and front suspension install.

The mold is actually less than a year old, so they are a little different than what's on the site.

Re: 95 Bronco Build!
That's a good looking fender. If that had been available when I needed all my stuff I would have went that way.
Post up some pics of those sick gnar Giant shackles!

Re: 95 Bronco Build!
Hey, so your the Travis I met when I picked up my glass right? Do you remember me? It was back in October I think lol. I was pretty impressed with the fit of the front fenders when i put mine on and I really like the shape. Rear left a little to be desired but I'm fine with it.
Your build is looking good. Can't wait to see more pics as it comes along.
