Race tires... are for Race Trucks..
I disagree. I don't "daily drive" my Bronco but I run the non-project Bajas and LOVE them. I drive it enough that I can say it wouldn't bother me. The problem is people make general statements about something not knowing what the other person can tolerate. I've owned suspensions on lowered cars people on the "interweb" bitched about but I didn't mind it one bit. I have had Bajas on mine now for a couple years and can say they are noisy (always) and flat spot when you first start to drive them but after they warm up, they are fine. I guess I can adapt and learn to deal with/drive anything and others are more picky.

The only time I would ever run a race tire on any of my rigs.. would be when they only see dirt miles.. race tires for a dd suck.. period...

running race tires on a daily driver is overkill. however, there might be times when it is needed to drive the truck around town. in this case a "race" tire that has fair road manners is a nice thing to have.

In my case, i have Baja TAs on my bronc. I dont drive it every day. I find these tires surprisingly decent for the street. my comments would be

they are very heavy! (you need good gearing and a healthy engine).
they are noisy (i have dual flowmasters so this is not a big item)...
they are on the stiff side (thick wall, an asset otherwise).

on the plus side
they are surprisingly good in sand (dont bother airing down, their stiff wall will not bulge) however, since they have an aggressive tread they will bite for traction....
they are ok in rain (drive like an old man under the rain and you will be fine).

bottom line is:
they are heavy, they are expensive, they are meant for race cars..
but if you had your share of flats in the desert and you can get your hands on a set for the right price, dont hesitate!...

i had the bajas on my old ranger for a long time, and i liked them in the summer months, although the winter sucked, as it took about 20 miles for them to get warm enough to be round again. i also had the 37" baja(street looking pattern) they hated cold too. they both were a bitch to balance and keep balanced. i ve said it before, i like the hankook dyna pro mts you should check them out....

perhaps its about the tire pressure, like if you park it with low tire pressure for a while, the tire will temporarily deform

I thought that for a while but I always have 30psi and they do it. It seems to me like when its been cold out and I jump in (like in the morning at 5am going to work) its worse than 3pm when the suns been shining on them all day (but they still have a little). I don't know where you live so I can't say much more (again, this is the helpful part of filling in "location" hahaha).

yes. I have them on my bronco, the first 3 miles EVERY morning fells like a tire is going to fall off because they flat spot overnight. I am hoping to get 5,000 miles out of my rear tires with s spool.
