Yes. They are Autofab, have a black rubberish coating underneath (80%) and need some love. The glass is not cracked in half but there are some stars and deep chips that need fixin (was on a Bronco that rolled), then some paint. But for the money.....still a deal. The shop I went to is the guys who race the red La Paz Superduty race truck.yikes wrote:Didja get'm Andy?

Oh and like I said yesterday Andy - I've got a guy to do the fiberglass repair if you want. He's a local racer and surf board shaper. His shop is about a block from mine.

Ok. I was gonna ignore you guys but heres the "Official" response.
I did pick up the BTF 3.5" over beams from Chris P. That said.....
My rig is built SLOW and on a budget. I need to get a deal on some coilovers and while I am looking for that deal, I want to shop around for coilover mounts (Kiefer, Philo, Solo, Giant, some friends, etc) and see what it the best use of my money. I want to help out GFB'ers/Sponsors but need to watch the bottom dollar as well. Stay tuned.

Find some used shocks that can be used as coil-overs later, some lift coils and modify/ reinforce the stock coil-buckets mount the shocks... cheap and easy upgrade. You can sell the coils and buckets later when you upgrade to coil-overs.Silverslk wrote:My rig is built SLOW and on a budget. I need to get a deal on some coilovers....
Just a thought.

He's already got modified buckets, although I'm not sure what length shock they are for. I'm thinking it's a 10" or something shorter though.

Yeah, already have some home made coil buckets. I was told the beams were built for coilovers......but thinking about it on the way home yesterday.....the coil mounts to the upper radius arm bolt, right? Could I just bolt that stuff on and run colis for a bit longer?

That is a correct statement, you should be able to bolt on for now.

Yes, but it may sit lower and ride softer due to leverage. A longer spring may help but then you'll have coil bind problems. Getting a stiffer spring in 4" lift won't happen either.Silverslk wrote:Yeah, already have some home made coil buckets. Ask Rick which springs he uses. His beams are 3" over per side with coil buckets... works great.

This is why a build thread from him would come in handy.

Andy have you called BTF to see what kind of deal they can give you for an engine cage and coilover mounts? I would imagine they have it all figured out for their set up. I'm not a fan of mixing and matching but that's just me.

Re: Andy (Silverslk) 1995 Bronco (slow project)
I disagree for a small bit.....I wouldn't run Camburg arms with Southwest Beams. I would figure they are designed together to work togerher but BTF arms/beams with Southwest C/O mount is no different than you using King shocks on a kit Mark designed to work with Bilstein. The arms/beams are what will affect alignment and stuff, the upper mount is merely a placeholder for the coilover.BajaBronco13 wrote:Andy have you called BTF to see what kind of deal they can give you for an engine cage and coilover mounts? I like Kiefers C/O kit (with air bumps and all) and it looks the biz, but it takes up more space than I would like in the engine compartment. I wonder if he would do a old school one like Tonys?

Re: Andy (Silverslk) 1995 Bronco (slow project)
Funny you mention the King and Bilstein set up with Mark's coilovers. My set up had to be tweaked because Mark's coilovers were based off Bilsteins. Going to 3.5" wider beams IMHO adds to complexity but what the hell do I know. I would just assume BTF has there set up all worked through and cycled for their beams. Either way, can't wait to see your truck done Andy.
