You haven't seen mine up close Scott! Haha! And yours has one of those safety metal things...what are they called again....oh yeah, a cage! I will always feel like an unsafe poser until I've done the right thing and get a cage built with seats and harnesses. Every trip out is like playing roulette without it. Especially with an undisciplined right foot.bajascott wrote:i wish i could have as nice a ride as yours! one of my fav's

Got the heater box into position this morning. It fits! Once the rain stops I'll figure out how to hook it up.

You really have one of the best built B’s that I’ve seen; every part has had that attention to detail that makes your Bronco standout. Now enjoy it and thanks for taking all of us along for the ride!
After watching your build I’m just going to sell mine off. I just don’t have the time or desire to build a Bronco anymore.
Just going to build my 75 and call it done.

I did! I had a red 96 Sport. Sold it, and regretted it 3 minutes later. Finally got around to replacing ityikes wrote:Thanks Will! Didn't you buy a red Bronco a few years back? What happened to that one?Becks_Bronco wrote:I've followed your truck since i first got a bronco Brian. Love it.

Re: Brian's '96
Weekend update!
Rebuilding the rear end right now. Pinion bearing went south, so it's getting a new master kit and fresh gears. Blew up a passenger side hub once again. It's happened twice in the last year and I think it's due to worn splines in the slip joint causing a bind. Decided to go with Mile Marker hubs (at $50 wack) until I can get to the root of the problem. Started getting some noise from the t-case after the last hub blew. Not sure what it is, but I'm sure it will mean a swap. The planet is definitely worn, as well as the output flange. May mean another case. Haven't got the blower fan wired yet. I'm not an electrician. Haha! Why did I ever get into this hobby??!?!?! Planning to pull the rear springs and freshen them up during my week off at the end of the year. Also going to pull the shocks and replace two bleed screws, wear bands and the broken bypass adjuster. Finally getting serious about spark plug wires, after burning 6 wires in the last couple of years. Ordered 10mm DUI wires with 1400dgr sleeves. They will get an additional sleeve near the plug good for 2000dgr. Should take care of the problem for good. Also picked up another Ford Racing cap and rotor and some of those Bosch plugs nobody likes that I think are great. Once I've got all of that in place I'll start tackling the fuel delivery issue...if it still exists.
Anyway, that's all for now. Dieing to get on with some cool stuff again. This maintenance BS is...BS.

Was digging through a box and found these old pictures today. Circa 2000-2001...when the beatings began.

B... that looks great! I have to move my airbox out of the way... I may have to "make" a new box to decrease the size and intrusion into the engine bay. Your's looks great!yikes wrote:Got the heater box into position this morning. It fits! Once the rain stops I'll figure out how to hook it up.

Re: Brian's '96
Brian, on a side note. Do you still run your IAT sensor exposed per the N&N kit instructions? Mine is sitting on the bracket and I am concerned it needs to be put in the tube...Any advice?

Re: Brian's '96
Yes, it's still on the outside. I want to put it in the tube as well, because I know the air temperature flowing over it is cooler coming from missing inner fender vs rising up off of the headers. I'll do that once I get bored with everything else. Haha!SuperSixAxis wrote:Brian, on a side note. Do you still run your IAT sensor exposed per the N&N kit instructions? Thanks Tom! Can't take credit for making it. Unfortunately I don't know/remember the name of the person that did.BajaF250 wrote:B... that looks great!

Its all coming together nicely, Brian. Hopefully you will get a good run at Pismo and do yourself proud. Are you going to let Carmen have a huck at Pismo?

Re: Brian's '96
2011 tally:
- Mogi built trans
- Anaheim Gear rebuilt t-case - converted to manual
- Fabbed shifter
- Inland Empire Driveline rebuilt driveshaft
- New bearings and gears in the rear
- Heater box installed
- Relocated battery
- Master cut-off installed
- Built rear bumper
- Mounted spare in rear - fabbed frame
- Rewired HID's
- Relocated dust light
- Replaced 80% of the sensors
Now that I've had a chance to look back, not a bad year for the Bronco. Plans for this year? None. I just want to drive it and...HOPE SHE HOLDS! There are still a number of items that are nearing the end of their life cycles. Will be replacing the power steering pump and possibly radiator. Injectors if I get the extra cash. Engine, cage, paint, seats/harnesses, GPS and fuel cell if I hit the lottery.
