Thanks Tom. I'm kinda bummed but it is what it is. I'm sure she'll make it out to something else soon. I'm thinking I can get her to the next MORE race as long as it falls on a weekend I'm actually in town this time...

Too bad your 400 miles away.

I'll get it done somehow. My main problem is my stupid job keeps getting in the way of me working on the Bronco. Hey that reminds me. Gotta check my super lotto ticket from last night.

Hey I won. When can you be here Philo. I've got $5.00 burning a hole in my pocket.

Steve,

Tony and I will also be planning a US Excursion so hopefully she can join that one. Bummed for you man, I know you really wanted her to come.

I'm bringing the white bronco so I will have a third seat if you want to roll back on Sunday with me.

Sound good - Chris - thanks. Philo I think is coming by my shop so I may roll with him because of that, but if not I can roll with you. We can figure that out down there though.

That covers about 5 minutes... but it's not quite enough for me to travel.

I still have a jump seat if you want, Steve. Unless someone takes it sooner, you are welcome to ride with me.

According to my clock that leaves you 10-12 hours each day to prep. I fail to see the problem. Need my llanteras hombre there. Seriously, hope you can make it. You still go more than I do and it's like what? 20 x the drive for you. This will be a good one tho, imagine all those Broncos rolling through Baja!

Well your right but at my age I need minimum of 6 hours of sleep or I get really cranky.

Well I had another set back in getting ready for this trip. I had to make an apperance at a family function Saturday and on the way up my crew cab died. I just left Dave's house after picking up some stuff he set out for me. I'm driving maybe 45 mph and the check engine light comes on and the engine dies. It would idle very rough but wouldn't go at all. I've always feared this day would happen. Dang computer controlled electronic do more no good son of a beach. I called my guy at Big Valley Ford and he sent a tow truck for me and got it to the dealer just as they closed up shop. We'll have to see what the problem is. I've got my fingers crossed its something simple. I guess I'll have to give some serious thought to trading her in on a new truck now that she's let me down. Our relationship has suffered a major set back that I'm not sure I can get over.

Hey Rick,
Bummer!!! May be the turbo... they have a high failure rate... Getting one of those new 2011 models with the compressed graphite engine blocks... hmmmm, not a bad idea! We WILL see you on this trip!

Yeah its fixed. One of the five sensors in the exhaust system went bad and told the computer that the exhaust/DPF system was overheating and shut off the fuel. What a pain in the behind for such a simple thing. Note to self. Buy a scanner for crew cab.

Good to hear it was nothing major Rick. I feel your pain. Once a vehicle lets me down, the trust in the relationship is called into question. After that it's pretty much all down hill till one day you find yourself at a delarship flirting with a new ride. You know how it is, once you start looking it's just a matter of time...
