PaulW's 72
Work in progress as it is just a hobby project Links suspension by Glen, dual CO on 4 corners. 5.0HO/AOD/D20 Alloy axles F/R 9"R, D44F, 35" Krawlers, Viair, HB all disks, etc., etc.
Paint is 95% and polishing is 25%. Headliner is complete, seats are pretty bad. Dash need much work. Under the hood detailing is 50% not counting engine/tranny removals for firewall detailing. Like I said work in progress, and I have three other projects that now have priority. Sigh.
Two pics from inside the shop. Wont move now with stuff under the hood disconnected.

Guna paint the top from the bedsides to the drip rail & TG matching yellow. To much silver for me.
The reason for painting the eng compartment is I did not prefer the original color.

Had to dig out the paper which is pretty disorganized.
Front springs: 10"x275# top, 14"x400 bottom. Set static for now at high rate.
Rear 16"x250# top, 16"x400# bottom.Set static for now dual rate.
Fox Shocks
Front 12"x2.0"=980-99-010-A
Rear 16"x2.5"=980-99-1.09-A
Started out with a 12" top front spring but wanted to lower it a bit so I put in the 10" with a keeper. The 2 12x275s are available.

Wow that came out really nice! I last saw it at Glens when it was still brown and drove it when it had a worn out steering box. Almost time to put it in the dirt?

Thanks all. I wish it was done. Maybe this summer?
Right now I need Jeep and travel trailer effort. Both have busted stuff as a result of Moab. Travel trailer got hit with a microburst and messed up the awning. The Jeep has both front axles trashed. Yes I know Jeeps suck. To bad they are not trail ready, however it did last for 8 days of hard stuff.

Door mirror issue resolved
I hate the stock mirrors because the flop around when the door is closed. Tried Autozone plastic ones and they were pretty cheep looking.
At a car show I took a chance on the 69 full size morrors. They have a tightening screw to lock the mirror once one adjusts it. The passender side is fixed and the drivers side has a cable remote for adjustment once the housing is locked with the screw. These morrors are used, but are nearly perfect, and are sold on Ebay.

Door Mirror install
The fab was a little detailed. ANd I spen a lot of time measuring. Of course I was paranoid about making the precision hole for the remote operator on the door panel so I made an Al disk then screwed it onto the door panel. That hole had a flat and an key, making it a little tricky. I guess Ford just stamps the holes. Good thing because as usual it took me 3 tries. The gasket makes an accurate template for the 2 screw holes and the larger hole where the cable assembly passes thru. I used a step drill bit for the larger 1/2" hole. Had to buy an extra gasket for the passenger side since the 2 mirrors did not include it. Note that the drivers side mirror is farther forward than the passender side. I like the mirrors as far forward as possible. Clearance to the wing window is not an issue unless one wants the things in a crazy position. I dont use the darn things anyway. (Next mod should be a wing window delete?)
