No play by play this year, but...349 Billy Bunch was having a great race, then between Santo Tomas and Ojos he stopped. Moss just passed and it looks like they stopped to see if all was well. Zooming in on the tracker, it looks like they're at the bottom of a hill and the only access is on the race course. No idea what happened. Anyone else?
Actually, Moss hasn't moved pass them for quite a few minutes. Must be giving them a hand.
This really lit the crowd up at the finish. he was about 10-15 minutes behind the leaders the whole time (considering he started last, not a bad thing).
Not sure where he ended up placing after penalties and the such (somewhere top 5 I believe), but if your not gonna win, might as well finish in style:
Thanks for helping all of us stuck here enjoy the race T.....I love your pics as always looks like a great time. I am hoping I can make it down for the 1K this year I may be helping out the torchmate crew? We will see though! Thanks for the report!
Another great Baja trip. Here are a few more pics. This is on day one, Thursday:
Before getting into downtown Ensenada we had to stop at a taco stand because we couldn't enjoy Baja tacos fast enough, lol:
Then we heading into town:
Then we got to our hotel and hung out with the rest of the Roger Norman Motorsports crew. Trophy Truck, Chase Trucks and Prerunner where all there:
Later that evening we headed over to the Bahia hotel to meet up with the Baja Fools who reserved a bus to take us over to the Horsepower Ranch. What a great bunch of guys, lots of laughs and lots of margaritas were flowing. We arrived at Horsepower Ranch and were blown away by the place. Very cool and makes me look forward to our BajaHid Excursion run even more. Here is a pick of Malcolm Smith. What a class act and super nice guy:

As the rest of us were walking in front, on the side and behind the number 8 trophy truck Tony was smart enough to jump on the back. Rough life hanging out with the TT crew, ha ha ha:
Later on in the evening we headed over to the Score Driver's Meeting. The entire team showed up:
Day Three aka Race Day. We left our hotel early in the morning, I think it was 7:00 a.m. Okay early for me. We were going to position ourselves at Race Mile 104 near the base of the Summit just in case Roger needed some help getting up the steep climb to the top.
The closer we got to our spot we started to see chase helicopters over head:
We had the 2010 BFG chase book and it had an access road that would put is right next to the course at race mile 102. Much to our surprise new fences were put up and we could not get through. After much searching and no bypass we found the owner of the land we needed to get through. After talking to the guy he finally agreed to let us go through his land, he opened his gates and guided us through:
We made it to our spot at race mile 104. And waiting for our truck to come through. We then started to see the TTs and 1 cars coming through.
Some nice rigs we ran into out there:
After watching the first set of TTs come through and as we were monitoring Norman race frequency and our chase frequency we got the word that race 8 crashed into a ditch trying to avoid a down car at race mile 9. Unfortunately the truck could not continue so we DNF'd. All of us were so bummed but understood that the truck could not continue. So it was time to head back into town. On the way back we stopped by a road section of the race to watch some vehicles go through. We saw this cool Super Duty:
Less then 30 minutes later the Super Duty returned. We went over to talk to the driver and it turned out they had a broken axle. These guys were from Texas and this was there first Baja race:
Interesting placement of resis:
Some more pics:

Heading back to nearing Ojos we were stopped at this military check point. Apparently the soldiers frown up on being photographed:
Once we passed we headed North:
Got to town, gassed up and aired our tires back up but also ran into this cool four door diesel mini truck:
After getting back to the hotel, we showered and got ready to check out the first trophy trucks come in. We had a chance to see Bryce Menzies come in, Andy Mac and Robby Gordon's kick @$$ donuts on the last turn towards the finish line.
