Hey Jimmy,
I didnt do a write up, but did do some picture whoring in my thread from when I did this to my Bronco. Slow, long and tedious process, I would suggest picking up two spot weld removers from HF as well as some cutting discs.

The cutting blade gets worn, there are so many damn spot welds it is nuts! I went through 1 for each fender.

Im also interested in a write up on this, but I will be building my own supports. Whats a common or good size tubing? 1 inch? Any pics would be helpfull. I checked out AutoFab's site, they have a bunch of old black and white small pics. Kinda hard to get a good idea of what they recommend.

1" x .095 would work well for these. You can even go .065" if you want to keep it lighter.

There are some issues with the lighter tubing fatigue cracking, I would recommend you stay with the .095".

But, I'm also using 1" on the top bar and ¾" for the rest of the structure.

Im gonna hold off on building traditional supports and wait until my shock towers are in and build something similar to Mikes setup....

That's a nice set up there Chris. Any more pics of that ride?

Oh yeah, thanks for the front bumper. Steve dropped it off at my house.

Youre welcome for the bumper, glad it will get used instead of rotting in my side yard!

How did you hang your fenders ? Help a freezing Canadian plz

Post by scraptor »

If you could all be so kind as to post some pictures of your glass fender mountings, it would help me decide how to do mine. Thanks
Links would help too. Image

This fender mount keeps coming loose after a mile or so, says he can t run that fast.

There are a few ways to do it. One is to skin the outer fenders of the originals from the inners. Look at Tony's (TCM GLX) build. He skinned them and Steve (Chasetruck754) welded supports in. Thats probably the easiest way to do it.
I'm just here for the views. It helps me feel wanted.
