Thanks fellas. Almost ready to run. Bunch of tedious under hood stuff that's driving me nuts.

It's going to move next weekend, barring any major setbacks. I can taste it. Finally! Almost there. Finished some work on the driver's side engine bay today. Tomorrow I should get everything mounted on the passenger side, then it's just a matter of electrical. There will still be a lot of details to take care of, but it's almost road ready.

Does it matter which way the two eye connector to the starter solenoid is mounted? Does anyone have a picture of they wouldn't mind posting? Thanks!

Looks GREAT Brian!!

As for solenoid, what do you mean? Which wire goes where? It shouldn't matter, when the solenoid is triggered it just connects battery input to starter (output).

Thanks Andy. Next question: Should I find a way to seal off all of the unused multi-connectors under the hood, or will they be fine open to the elements?

I carefully layer silicone over the end of the plug, making sure not to get any in the contacts, that way if I ever need to use the plug again, I just peel the silicone layer off and there is a clean plug ready to use

IT'S ALIVE!!

Image

The starter locked up shortly after firing it up. Then the newish alternator started making a terrible noise and is not charging. Hopefully I didn't mess the wiring up???? Otherwise, everything was alright. Moved it back and forth in the driveway and ran the t-case thru the gears. Shifts great and doesn't appear to have any issues. Shocks will definitely need some work, but they sure keep the front end under control. Brakes don't feel to good, but didn't expect them to with all of the rust on the rotors. Squeaks and rattles all over the place. Drove it up the street and back, but had to park it before the battery drained. Nice having a disconnect!

Oh yeah...the front end is sitting way too low. Shocks aren't charged. Spring rate doesn't feel too bad though.

Got started on an inner fender today, but it was going way too slow, so I got the zip ties out. Haha!
