I guess I can't talk smack anymore. This morning the transmission broke in my bronco requiring a tow. Unreliable pos. I'm going to have to tow it everywhere now including the 12.9 mile trek to RATR.

Finally got some Autofab rear quarter panels. Also had the flywheel surfaced and got a new Valeo clutch.

Philo,
Did you end up buying that entire truck with the 1.75 tubing thrown in?

He kept the tubing... he will sell it for $300-400. I didn't want it as everything I have is too heavy for 1.75.BajaBronco13 wrote:Philo,

Re: Philo's 93 Bronco aka "Lucky Bronco #3"
I've just about got the transmission out. Found a number of issues.
1. Bolts are missing out of the motor mounts and one is broken.
2. Trans mount is broken.
3. Lots of metal on the magnet in my trans.
4. Rear output flange is loose on the t-case. It has about 1/32 of rotation play between it and the shaft.

Re: Philo's 93 Bronco aka "Lucky Bronco #3"
After fighting the hydraulic line for a while due to the release tool being gone from the line I've gotten the transmission out. I pulled the top plate off for inspection and found that two of the plugs for the shift shafts are gone from the shifter traveling too far. The forks are both destroyed too. Since I've had a sloppy shifter and shifting problems since it was rebuilt I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the re-builder didn't touch the forks or shifter top at all.
The gears, bearings, syncros are all looking good.

It was ready for a clutch.

Broke the trans mount on the metal part. Never seen that before.
