Rear tailgate dome light switch?

Did any big Broncos ever come with a rear tailgate dome light switch? I find it annoying that the light does not come on when I open the gate. I could just add a universal pin switch but I would rather use an OE Ford part if possible.

I'll take a pic in the morning, but it's like the front dome light, and it's mounted on the shell.

You mean a door switch that turns the interior lights on when the tailgate is open, right? Not the switch ON the dome light in back to turn it on manually.

Yes, I can turn the light on with the headlight switch or on the light itself. I want the light to come on automatically when the gate opens.

What about a "mercury switch" or whatever the new term is? Like the one under the hood that turns on the underhood light when you lift the hood? That might be easier to install than a pin type (and wire).

That light with constantly be coming on from be bouncing around the desert... I'm not a fan of mercury switches.

My 96 has one, its mounted to the top of the shell, just inside in the center. it has on off and a setting for when the gate is down.

I'll take a picture if you want.

Can use a Door switch or if you want to look around the B2's have a switch for the rear hatch.

I ended up installing a Ford dome light in the top and a extra alarm pin switch for the gate.
