Rewrap/reshape factory steering wheel
Rewrap/reshape factory steering wheel
My steering wheel.has seen better days after almost 30 years. Its slick, worn and super squishy. Anyone have someone or reccomendation on a rewrap/reshape? It's a 92 so no airbag etc. Thought about aftermarket but between wanting to keep cruise control and the small fortune to convert thought I would explore this.

I'll agree with Matt. It's not cheap to have them recovered, but it's sooooooo worth having someone that can do a nice job on it. Aftermarket wheel + steering wheel adapter is in the $250-$300 range, or get it custom wrapped however you want it for a few bucks more and retain your cruise control, etc...

I used a guy here in San Diego off Miramar Rd. His IG handle is @ap_upholstery. He does some really nice work.

I might hit him up to do one for me. Might also see if he can get his hands on the Mocha color leather/vinyl. I really want to order some PRP seats, but my OCD wants the color to match the original shit.nubreed71 wrote:I used a guy here in San Diego off Miramar Rd. His IG handle is @ap_upholstery. Re: Rewrap/reshape factory steering wheel
Yeah, that would be slick. I'm sure he could get something pretty damn close to the mocha stuff you've got.

Dallas Custom Steering Wheel has a great reputation. They’ve done a ton of Land Cruisers from the IH8Mud forum along with high end cars. They will add or reduce the overall thickness of the padding as well as custom stitching patterns.
I have no affiliation with them other than being a previous customer.
