Centurion F-150

So i came across one and got to wondering if they use a f250/350 crew cab or if they use an extended cab and cut it like they do on 4 door bronco, anybody know or care to weigh in?

For the C-250's and 350's a crew cab and bronco were pulled off the line & mated for these I believe. Crew cab front of frame & cab and then bronco rear frame section and body grafted in.

Not sure what they did for the C-150's though as they didn't really have 1/2 ton crew cabs to pull off the line. Those may have been an F-150 front frame section, then a crew cab , and then a bronco rear?

Fourdoorbronco.com may have the info somewhere. At least I know that is a good site to find used ones as those guys keep tabs on eBay and then CL postings all over the US and post up there.

Either they took a crewcab f350 2wd and shortened the rear of the frame (under the front of the bed) or they took a super cab f150 and lengthened the middle of the frame (under the cab). Or 96-97 you could get a crewcab shortbed F250. I guess you would just have to look at the frame. The F250-350 frames are thicker than the f150 frames (wider flanges and slightly taller)

I have looked at a few - they cut 2 frame & weld them together using the bronco back section like I mentioned above. Here's the pics of one C-150 I looked at.

That’s the worst way to put 2 frames together.

Anybody else notice that the frame ends aren't lined up real well? Looks like they are almost 1/8" off on the one side.

Also why the C150's were shorter than the 250/350's.

If you've ever had much of a look at one of these things & how they put them together you would NOT be impressed. Well, if you're anything like me that is... There are still a lot of them on the road though after 30 years or so, so I guess they can't be THAT bad (rust roof issues aside).
