Slappy Style Go Fast with Dana 44/50 hybrid beams....
Is a intercooler mandatory at 7psi. My blower set up is 6psi not intercooled. I’m gonna add one and bump up PSI

Intercoolers are not mandatory but they make a world of difference in multiple ways including the obvious advantage of a cooler/denser air charge, better power, and better driveability... just know that the cooler=equals better on your charge side and accept it lol...a lot of high hp drag cars will actually spray methanol as well as run on alcohol to cool the air charge, but that is a whole different world all together that I could literally spend all day talking about.
I got a lot of flack for putting my intercooler in the back on my ranger because it wasn't in direct airflow but between the increased surface area and the draft off the cab I feel I had sufficient enough heat transfer to justify having it back there....it made a noticeable temp difference that you could actually feel by touch and it also made a drastic night/day difference in power you could feel from the drivers seat.
So too sum up...yes intercooler good, heat bad.

Actually, the correct terminology is CHARGE AIR COOLER, or AFTERCOOLER, not intercooler. Inter-coolers are mounted BEFORE or IN BETWEEN supercharger stages to cool the ingested or first stage pressurised air charge. AFTER-coolers, or charge air coolers are mounted between the supercharger outlet and the engine intake to reduce the compressed air charge temperature prior to entering the intake manifold. (Supercharger being positive displacement or turbocharger).

In the past, aircraft engines would run turbochargers in stages, where the first stage compressor would feed the inlet of the second stage compressor that would further compress the air before it enters the engine. More pieces to the puzzle coming together, not sure if I'll bolt these GT40's on this engine or not but its good to have them...finally home for 3 days after 3 weeks away so hopefully I can get something done in this pile, shipping off to Texas for work on Monday lol.

Slappy Style Go Fast with Dana 44/50 hybrid beams....
Hotside completely tacked up and ready to weld, need to rig up some sort of mount solution to take the weight of the turbo off the pipes but it's in its home, I can still swing it 3-4 inches either way if I need to since it has v band clamps...starting on intercooler and piping next.

If you mount to cage I’d think you need to do rubber bushing, right? Cause even with poly mounts the motor will probably move some in relation to frame/cage

Not sure how I am going to mount it, was thinking of building simple brackets off the header bolts or intake manifold bolts, that way everything stays engine mounted and moves together...I'll have to look at it closer when I get time, if I mount it off the cage then yes, it will have to rubber mounted..the merge collector and up pipes will be rubber mounted to the frame.

What about some thick aluminum that uses the 4 carb bolts- obviously with a hole in the middle - carb spacer / turbo mount??

Interesting idea but I would be concerned with it having too much leverage hanging off the side and either warping the carb flange or creating a vacuum leak.

cross tube bushing same as motor
but, yes no matter how much you tie things in you will have some movement or vibration.....always ( like you are saying Brian)
