Q80 ride height
Need some help here. Trying to get some information to check my set up. Can someone who has Q80 springs tell me what the ride height is on their rig ? I'm looking for the measurement between the axle tube and the frame ( directly up from the tube is the funny notch they have from the factory ). Please let me know what you are running - I have
Q80 with Solo long shackles and hanger drop kit with the spring wedges removed from the axle.
Thanks

Re: Q80 ride height
I can measure for you in the morning. I have the same setup, but I still have the wedges. Mine sits ass high, probably gonna lose the wedges or delete completely with my 9" swap.

Re: Q80 ride height
There's a spring perch that has literally no space between the pad and the cut radius for the tube. Cut of those factory perches, ditch the wedges and get those low profile perches- they have multiple holes IIRC.

Re: Q80 ride height
Thanks guys. My issue is that I am too low in the rear. I measure 8 3/4" on the Left and 9 1/4" on the Right. This is measured to where the frame lip rolls down a bit. Here is my setup :
Front -
Solo Engine Cage
12" coil overs - 500#(8") spring over 550#(12") coils and a 10" shock behind.
I set the coil overs with minimal preload so the springs don't fall out.
Rear -
Solo under bed shock mount
Solo extended shackles, Relocated rear hanger - lower to allow room for the shackle
Q80 springs
Relocated axle perches w/o wedges
I love the Solo stuff, but I wonder if the springs were not correct? There were no tags on the springs. The rear sits about 2" low, if I adjust the ride height by lowering the coil overs the springs will fall out. Is my logic correct ?

Front springs are to stiff, I have 8" 250 and 20" 300lbs. With the solo stage 4 kit I sit about 1.5" tall in the rear but nothing has settled and my fuel tank is empty with no spare

Front Springs are too stiff and too short. Are they able to compress all the way?

Re: Q80 ride height
Thanks guys, with the question of the front springs. Keep in mind these are 12" shocks. overall length is 28" eye to eye. So yes I should most likely use 1 10" and 14" spring, but even with the shorter springs the shock is still extended fully with the preload, how much should the front end sag under weight ?

Re: Q80 ride height
Ok, great information. How about the front then, with an engine cage and coil overs what is the measurement form the front axle to the frame ?

Re: Q80 ride height
Do you have stock width beams? I do, and i have a 12' over a 14'. 350lb & 450lb springs.

Re: Q80 ride height
Yes they are stock beams, I had attached the photo for reference. It is a Solo engine cage and has a 12" coil over shock with a 10" shock mounted behind the beam, based on where they are mounted they both travel full stroke. Just for comparison what is the measurement from the top of the beam to the frame above it ?
Re: Q80 ride height
if you are happy with the rear, then lower the front.
since you have springs on there, a little math and you can get the right springs on the there to get the desire ride height.

Re: Q80 ride height
Well that is where my dilemma is, I am not sure that the ride height in the back is correct. When I purchased the components I received the springs but they had no tags or Id on them, based on others measurements with the same setup they are several inches low, which if up would make the from much better. I don't want to go the wrong way chasing my tail if they are incorrect. That is why I am asking the questions that way, just looking to validate one way or the other. Thanks
