Mobile Air Conditioning service
Re: Mobile Air Conditioning service
I live here in Phoenix, I may have to have you check my AC in my 1990 next time I go to Escondido! Any advice for getting more air flow or pressure from vents? Air blows cold just not hard. Checked every duct seal and motor is new. Is there an upgrade for the motor or squirrel cage to get more volume? Thx! Jason

Have you check to make sure it's not coming out of the dash and defrost at the same time? The vent control on the Broncos is vacuum, so if you have a leak or bad check valve it could come out of both thus reducing the volume out of both.

Just finished up a really need build, it's a weitzel chassis f150 with a LT4 vett motor. I did all the plumbing and AC servicing on it. The customer and I are both very pleased with the outcome, plus it was a meat locker inside!!!!

I just did all the vacuum lines and actuators, I even zip tied the blend doors shut all the way. Just wish I could get more air flow. I know the 92-96 AC works good as I've had two of them. I didn't know if the fan motor or squirrel cage was different?Whiterhino1 wrote:Have you check to make sure it's not coming out of the dash and defrost at the same time? My 88 ford sucked blowing air too. Might be the design.

Does that front Fan have a cooler behind it or is it just for AC?

Just for the AC, it's on a switch in the cab. That truck obviously has a front mounted radiator so that fan pulls plenty of air but in extremely hot climates that secondary fan is nice

Re: Mobile Air Conditioning service
AZJD you could always do that, I have a couple tricks to increase volume of air.
Re: Mobile Air Conditioning service
What does that cost and what would need to be done??

Willie- We can do a fan and we can run dual parallel condensors......meat locker
AZDJ- first thing would be to seal all the vents very well. next would be operation and possible mods to the existing set up

Re: Mobile Air Conditioning service
So I've been entertaining the idea of making a hose and fitting kit for broncos, f!50s, and ls swapped rangers. It would include everything you need, minus the vintage air unit and ducting, to install ac in your prerunner. It would use the existing pump and come with an adapter to thread on fittings. The hoses would be pre crimped and ready to install. I would make easy install instructions for the DIY guys. I could make kits for single and dual units. Obviously a vast majority of people can service the ac themselves so in the price it would include my services for the vacuum, charge and inspection of proper install. My goal is to stream line the process and save my GFB buddies some of their hard earned cash. What do you guys think???

Re: Mobile Air Conditioning service
While I don't have any of the above I'm the type of guy that would buy something like that!
I may need to pick your brain on thoughts of vintage air, etc. if you have used kits like that a bit before. I've been wavering on what to do in my '74 crew cab.

I am going to run the Vintage Air 61005 Series Gen-II Super Cooler Heat Cool & Defrost System.

A friend with a full size Bronco has been running the 1st Gen Monster cooler and it has worked really well.
My question is, is the Vintage Air upgraded Condenser better then the OEM one?
What are the Pro's or Con's?
Vintage Air Monster SuperFlow Condenser For Dual
Air Or High Capacity Systems
Vintage Air Part Number 037030-OVR
Condenser with straight outlets.28.5” Long x 16” Tall x 1” thick.
Overall length with fittings 30”

Re: Mobile Air Conditioning service
I have had good results with the factory condenser. The big issues are in if you're keeping your factory core support, are you running electric fans or manual, and your budget. Remember that condensing is the first and one only the most important steps in the AC process. The better you condense, the better your AC works

Re: Mobile Air Conditioning service
Vintage air is the best option for the money. There are a few other companies that make good units but the prices are a bit higher

Mobile Air Conditioning service
Does the Vintage Air system use any of the factory system? Such as compressor or condenser? Could the Vintage setup use factory controls?

Re: Mobile Air Conditioning service
You can use the factory condenser and compressor. The controls you must use from vintage air.
