FYI: 5/8 Coleman race studs at ORW say to use a 43/64 size drill bit inorder to achieve correct press fit. This is what I was told after playing 20 questions with the parts guy asking me what vehicle is it going in, year, make, model, ext.

Exactly, and I thought we were talking holes in the wheels too.

Knurl size will vary from different manufacturers, so always look up what is required for the studs you buy.

Has anyone done nicer 1/2" studs? Like the arp's or moroso? They have to be stronger than stock ones and you can get them 3" long. Moroso 46220 is the 1/2" set. They also have longer lug nuts too. 46330 is that part number.

Seems kinda logical. You get stronger studs and don't have to re drill the wheels or machine them. And if you need to borrow a wheel anywhere in the middle of nowhere it's guaranteed to fit.

I do dorman 9/16" studs. Not as big as the 5/8" but still add a bit of beef. Many wheels already have the holes big enough for them too.

Do you have a part number for those foreman ones? I'm sure they're different front to back

Ones I have the part # saved for are for the F-250/350. Not sure if they would work on the bronco. Typically to do the 9/16 studs I look up the one called out for the vehicle in question (1/2" for the bronco), and then look at the knurl diameter & length for that part #. You then look up a 9/16" stud & go through the book til you find one with the same knurl length. Or one just slightly longer is acceptable too.

Has anyone been able to source a wheel lock for 5/8-18 studs. I've been searching the web for abouf and hour and haven't been able to source any.

Having a wheel lock is a big deal for me. I've had things stolen right of my bronco. Lile my steelie spare. So anyway O can discourage or make theft difficult is a worthwhile investment for me.

On my spare, I have a cable with a pad lock on my swing away tire carrier.

I wouldn't worry about a wheel lock. You are gonna have a 7/8 or 1' socket for the lugs. I dont think most wheel theifs are prepared for that.

Have you checked Gorrilla Brand?

I have checked Gorilla and multiple internet and Ebay searches. If i am not able to source any O may stay stock or only step up to 9/16 studs because they at least have wheel locks available.

I question if there any wheel nuts that can be locked. Guys who steel wheels come prepared with a hammer and several sockets and the locks come off as fast as a regular nut. Maybe if you have wheels with sockets for the nuts that have tight fitting internally wrenching nuts they may be secure? What the wheel crook probably do not have is a 1-1/16 socket for the big flange nuts.

Well Gorilla does make 5/8-18 with a 1-1/16 flange but they are almost 7 bucks a pop!

All I know is the trophy truck I just chased for used 5/8" lug nuts with a 45* taper-- I personally can't think why I'd want a flanged wheel nut after seeing that-- just me though.
