1994 Bronco for General Tire Media
A little less than 2 weeks ago I bought D-Rek's bronco. As some of you know I was building one when I was approached about hauling the General Tire media team down through baja for the Norra 1000. Me not really thinking said ya but I better get to work lol. So 2 days later D-Rek and I worked out a deal and I picked up his since it was further along than mine. It was et up with Solo 4.5" over ttb, cage, deavers, 9", seats and the list goes on. Long story short I picked it up Saturday and it went to Richer Racing Monday at lunch time. Quickly Jonny and CHO went to work brainstorming on how to get the bronco dialed for Norra. We faced some obstacles because I wanted to keep 4 seats and I wanted 4 link. After talking with my good friend and Fox shock guru Joe Moore we quickly figured out that cantilever and mezzanine arms would not work good for me because it slows the shock shaft speed way down. So this past Monday 1-26-15 we decided shocks off trailing arm would work. So I quickly called Solo because they have trailing arms done and a proven design and ordered a set of cromoly trailing arms. Well long story short within that day I ordered steering as well as inner beam pivots. Saved us tons of design time and frustration. I chose to go with Fox shocks due to their years of support for my race programs and their quality products. Brian Binkert of Bink Designs is a good friend of mine as well so he has helped put some partners together to make this Bronco awesome in time for the Norra 1000. General Tire, Method Race wheels, Magnaflow, K&N, Fox, Richer Racing, Solo Motorsports, TSCO, and Bink Designs as well as many others that will be announced soon are key players in this project that I am planning on turning into a dream come true. I cannot thank my supporters enough. I will keep everyone posted on progress of the build. I think I am attaching photos we will see if they attach.

Her is some of the progress that has happened at Richer Racing over the last 24 hours. Pretty stoked on the progress. The Solo Motorsports parts came in and they are awesome.

How's it going Darren. I just got done reading through your whole build thread. Looks like you have a clean bronco. As you can see thrashing out a new toy for Norra lol. I hope all is well for you and the family. Hit me up sometime 760-803-9469
I am getting amped on the progress that Richer Racing has made in less than a week of work. New shocks are ordered and old ones being rebuilt, Tires are in, Diffs are being built, Beadlocks will be here the 20th of feb., Intake, mufflers are here, Bought a built E4od and waiting on my punisher valve body as well as the output shaft replacement for 4wd. This beast may just make the March 1st testing goal.
I need advice on motor to wake the 5.8 up. My good friend Juanco is going to tune for me but I am thinking throttle body, aluminum heads, cam, and headers. Any other recommendations?
Since I am running 37s I am going to run a 5.00 gear. This well more or less be a trailer queen too and from prerun and race trips so I would like maximum dirt performance. But we will be driving from San Diego to Cabo for Norra. A lot is dirt but there is a lot that is road as well down south.
I would also like to have headers built to go outside the frame for exhaust exits to each side versus under the cab. I will have a sealed positive pressure cab but Pemex stinks so I do not want the full on vacuum effect with the back window down. Does anyone know of someone that has built some of these?
Thank you,
Brandon

Throttle body isn't needed for quite some time. Factory will flow enough cfm for 400 + hp if i remember right. Factory y pipe is the first largest constriction. Your headers would take care of that. Second is the intake manifold. If smog isn't an issue your manifold options really open up and with it you can go with a mustang t body

Yes Knuckles will end up on the bronco but probably not until after Norra for time reasons. I plan to redo the whole front end after Norra so that would be the appropriate time to install knuckles plus a friend of mine has designed a front hub that works with 4wd that I plan on installing as well. Nice hearing from you Josh. We are doing another run of VSS kits if anyone is interested now would be the best time to order.
Thank you Seabass.

Re: 1994 Bronco for General Tire Media
Well now that cycling is happening we decided to notch the frame and play Peek a boo through the rear floor with the upper links and housing. Our goal is to make the bronco sit as low as possible. We also made the decision to cut the rear cage out. CHO and Jonny are planning to maximize the space in the cab and the old cage was not going to cut it. It will also give me some peace knowing that the quality will be top notch. These guys are good. I have worked with several fab shops over the years with racing and building different trucks. Hands down the guys at Richer Racing are good and quick. I have known Jonny for a few years and I should have started doing business with them years ago. Here's some more pics from yesterday afternoon.
