My VERY mild DD
A.k.a, my 95 F150 extended cab 4x4.
I've had a thread on dezertrangers for a bit now, and considering this site seems somewhat like it's more mature, ttb based cousin, figured I might as well throw a thread together.
Quick specs rundown: (keep in mind I'm just a dumb, broke, 18 year old student in Northern California who's done everything in his driveway)
-95 F-1 extended cab, 4x4 (with manual hubs), 5.8 Windsor maf, e4od, yada, yada. The only thing this truck didn't come with stock were power mirrors.
-front suspension: rancho drops and extended radius arms, procomp coils, bilstein 5100s
-rear suspension: stock leafs with a full length add a leaf and matching 5100s.
- rolling on 35 inch bfg ats and Tony's old Alcoa's!
Other little doodads are some of Tony's retrofit projectors, mild exhaust setup, nice little system, LED's, and countless hours (and dollars) spent on maintinence and freshening up (if it was old, dull, faded, cracked, ugly, it's been replaced, waxed, and repainted)
Future plans are of course suspension and gearing.
Stage 2 is going to consist of
-4:56 gears front and rear
-new, heimed radius arms
-bronco dual shock bucket up front with a second 5100
-deaver J40s
-possibly interior upgrades? (Momo wheel, mastercraft Baja xd's, expedition console, etc)
Goal for the truck is, and always has been a clean, reliable DD that can get alittle dirty, and drive home after. On a budget...
Here's a few pics! Chronological order I think..
Sorry for how thorough that was haha!

Nice truck. You call it mild, but just wait until the bug gets you. My Bronco was a mild build and now is a full long travel, full cage project.

Truck looks GOOD! LOVE the wheels! I'm pretty sure you're the one that PMed me on DR a while back about them, but if not I've got one sitting here that would be a matching spare if you only have 4 and are looking for 1 more.

Thanks guys!
And yeah Tony, I think I'll be grabbing that from you sometime soon.
Thanks for the offer on the alcoa, but I already have a matching 5 spoke collecting dust in my garage haha!

That's a nice looking truck! It's good to see you are focused on the maintainence side of it, as that will keep it running and reliable for years to come. I know all about the broke bit money has been tight here too. Keep the sensible, tasteful mods coming.

Re: My VERY mild DD
So today, I was driving the truck and it shifted super hard, same thing that happened when the mlps went, it felt like it shifted into neutral and then slammed into gear. Really, really hard this time though, like it actually sounded like a metal on metal clunk. I thought FUCK right away, good that I was literally 100 ft from my house, put it in 2nd and crawled home. When I got home, the truck didn't want to start. It cranked a little at first and then stopped cranking progressively more. Now it just clicks. Tried to jump it, no luck. I'm not too knowledgeable with this kind off stuff. I'm just assuming the starter took a shit or the solenoid or the alternator or something? Can someone point me in a direction?
Thanks for any help!

Re: My VERY mild DD
Couple updates! Major tuneup, went through the whole ignition system, every sensor, changed every fluid in the truck, got rid of the check engine light finally! Just want to keep the thing running for years to come. Also went back to stock 10 hole Alcoa's. On the way to pick them up, got sidetracked and scored this little guy!
And here's a picture or two with the 10 holes
Biggest update though is gears, finally. Picking up and 8.8 with 4.56s with about 5k on the gears, and brand new 4.56s for the ttb for 2hundooo! Going to go all through the rear end, rebuild the drums, throw on a g2 diff cover and call it good for now.
Question though, anyone know if the Dana 44 3rd in a 91 is different than a 95? As in, are gears interchangeable? I know I have to replace the 8.8 flange already or get a u bolt kit.

Re: My VERY mild DD
Anyone have any idea what all I need to get my A/C working? The guy who owned it before me must've blown the compressor because it was just replaced with an idler pulley. I have all the hoses and everything else, should I just have to get a new compressor, hook everything up, and give it a recharge? How many plugs go into the compressor by the way, I have two unused plugs next to each other under my hood by the compressor, they're kinda melted so I need new ones of those as well actually haha.
