Re: McQueen Glass
Robert came to my shop and picked up his hood, real nice guy. Robert when you get the longer pins (we buy the proper diameter bolts, cut them to length and side drill the bolt for the keeper pin) you need to put adjustment stops on the side to keep the hood up to align with fenders. Also a piece of rubber hose under the hood pins helps with keeping it tight.
I appreciate the response from the guys who have bought our products and am here to service you anyway we can. Thanks.

Re: McQueen Glass
Thanks Mike, I plane to add the side rubber bumpers back as well as extend the factory front bumpers like what you showed me on your Ranger
So happy with the fit/finish. Just as you told me I did have to enlarge the holes on the hinges to give me a little side to side adjustment

Hey Mike ... I've pushed my rear wheelbase back about 4", you able to move the wheel opening back so the wheel is centered in it? I have autofab ones now, but thinking about changing to your rears, fronts and hood soon.

Re: McQueen Glass
I'd be interested in a set with the wheel well pushed back too... 2 pair has got to be more cost effective than 1.

Re: McQueen Glass
You guys crack me up. To begin with, nobody has purchased a set of fronts or rears from me. Ive given away two sets to friends just to get some exposure. It takes 10 pairs to be cost effective. Considering the major part of the tooling is done, from scratch it takes 20 pairs.
And I have a months time in that set of tooling. We have sold 8 hoods to date.
I have inquiries about 3", now 4" how many sets of tooling do we make. Travis! Jump in here and set these guys straight. I dont want to be negative, but you have no idea what it takes (for quality glass) Other companys bang it out in a hurry and thats what you get.
Ive spent 12-15 years building the inventory of molds we have. Now we are running out of room to keep them. (indoors) I just dont know what to say.

Re: McQueen Glass
I think they were inquiring about relocating the wheel well back 4" to accommodate a wheel base change Mike.

Re: McQueen Glass
Robert, I know exactly what they are saying. It cost me $5000 in tooling to satisfy a couple of people that only want to spend $500 to get a set of fenders. As i said nobody has bought any of the stock length ones yet, and im going to build an extended version now?
The flares I built are for 37" & 39" tires. 35" and smaller need to go with the other companies.
Dicker, I dont know how to post pics, if someone will pm there email address i will send pics to them and they can post. We have pre paint photos now whith tell more than painted, the set we installed are bonded on, no visable fastenings.

Re: McQueen Glass
I understand the process and wasn't looking for new molds to be made, I was curious if you were able to cut the wheel opening out, after it comes out of the mold, shift back a couple inches and re-glass it back in. Doesn't sound like it, especially how your fender has more of a Raptor type fender flare/body line to it, probably wouldn't be easy to do. My autofab's are pretty flat so, think it would be easier to glass it back in.

Re: McQueen Glass
This is about exactly what I said a few pages back. I found out the hard way it's not worth it to have a mold made for glass I want even if you have 10 guys who swear they'll buy a set as that 10 turns to 0 VERY quickly when any parts get done.fibermike wrote:Robert, I know exactly what they are saying.
