got fed up with the 351 that i had due to the broken ez outs and rusty bolts.(that is now going to be stripped and sent out and rebuilt for my wifes 66 'stang). this motor has less miles, its carb'd and looks to be in better shape. i am trying to figure out how to run the e4od with it.but it seems that ,that will open up anoth can of worms ,so im trying find a good c-6 to run in it untill i get mine built. you know blah, blah, blah haha

Hahahahah. You going to keep the carb? How come? Why not just use the existing fuel injection and run a c6? They had that combo right?

So I ran a test on my truck, its the map sensor. Sprayed carb cleaner and there is no vacuum leaks. Also, I took out the water temp and put in a manual gauge, will this make a difference?

If you took out the ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor for the ECM it would make a big difference.

Anyone working on their own EFI Ford should buy whichever of these books (preferably both) applies to their vehicle. They have TONS of really useful information and all kinds of great wiring diagrams.

Ok, so I changed the map sensor this weekend and it runs like a top! Until I get a massive fuel leak last night and can't figure out if its the fitting or fuel pressure regulator in the dark... I hate working out the bugs.

Also, theres a line that runs from the charcoal canister to the fuel tank, and another line with a solenoid. Where does the line with the solenoid go to?

It goes to the intake. That is a purge solenoid that releases fuel vapors to the motor under certain conditions. There should not be liquid fuel in that line unless you have a habit of topping off/overfilling.

Any one know where I can get a y pipe for my bronco? I see them for 5.0s but none for 5.8. At least ones that are CA legal.

No. The deck height between the blocks is different so the heads are slightly farther up and spread apart. I've had several people ask me to build them bit I don't have access to a 5.8 truck or Bronco.
