See if they can trade you a grill. That way the truck they crush still looks complete. It's a long shot but worth asking

I also found a 68 F250 with a perfect grill in the junk yards impound lot... Told them I would pay top $$$ for it and they told me they had to crush it .

On the good side I scored an ash tray and a newer style rear window regulator and motor for my Explorer.

Well then all is well in the world. Getting my brother's [almost] finished is motivating me to get another Explorer... might be time to pony up and put the Bronco on the chopping block and start the search.philofab wrote:On the good side I scored an ash tray and a newer style rear window regulator and motor for my Explorer.

I cant believe how cheap they are... Definitely under priced for how reliable and useful they are. I think ford screwed up by making them larger and with independent rear ends.
My plans were to sell mine but I like it too much.

Funny - I've been looking at the 8 year project thread & thinking again... I always wanted an exploder. Then I had one & liked it. My boss convinced me to sell it & I've regretted it.

4 doors are nice! Smogging anything is something I don't feel like dealing with anymore. Our system is a crock & I'll continue to buy older trucks so I don't have to deal with the BS. Otherwise I'd be all over an exploder or Centurian.

I've regretting selling every one of mine. I missed out on a 4wd 5 speed for $800 a couple weeks ago.philofab wrote:I cant believe how cheap they are... Definitely under priced for how reliable and useful they are. I think ford screwed up by making them larger and with independent rear ends.

Not sure yet... Turned out different than the plans due to material and mistakes. Probably 37-38 gallons.

Haven't done anything on it. I'm overloaded on equipment and low on time so it's been buried.

Dude I seriously have the front end you need, the full race setup from Mason's class 8 that I bought. 100% bolt on bucket, beam pivot combo with shock mounts, radius arms, etc. Bump stop in middle of coil, everything fresh, heim RA, and spherical bearing pivots on the beams. Fresh powder coat. New autofab 5x5.5 aluminum hubs. Bolt it on and your front end is done. PM if you are interested.
