Dezert Shark or Silverback...I dunno
So I have a problem....incessantly watching classified pages, apps....my mind starts to wander at times. And although I really like my Jeep, I miss my Bronco...
Here she is...1995 XLT 5.8, 169k miles...shes been neglected and is quite a bit rougher than my last 1owner unicorn, but the peice was right, so here we are.
First up will be deep cleaning, and then getting caught up on maintenance and removing some of the previous owners additions.
I literally removed the broken front air deflector at the gas station 2 blocks from where I picked it up.

Made it home...check engine light came on about half way home...quick look showed some cracked vacuum lines...it drove well from fontucky after adding some water...which revealed a couple other things to add to the maintenance list.

hahaha... We all suffer from that same, weird disease that will not let us be happy with what we currently have, but always dreaming of the next project. I too have trouble fighting off the bad thoughts & have been looking at exploders, broncos, etc. Looking forward to see what you do to this one.

Re: Dezert Shark or Silverback...I dunno
So little update, we have moved into a new place, and are getting things sorted out...which means I'm getting antsy...
Some updates
Some updates
- Removed the grab handles, bucking pony's and the running boards
- Thanks to Brandon Hollander, picked up some old Rancho Parts for the front end
- Stan and I worked out a deal for some add-a-leaves
- Travis is helping me with some gently used 5100s, 4" Procomp Coils and hopefully a dropped pitman arm
- I slipped, tripped and stumbled into a too good to pass up deal on 6 brand new 35" KO2s
- Rancho brackets and arms will be going to powdercoat this week
- She still leaks a bunch and a "concerned" new neighbor has left me a love note letting me know it needs to be moved every 72hrs otherwise it may get towed

Re: Dezert Shark or Silverback...I dunno
Man I hate non car people with too much time on their hands!
Was the bronco parked in front of the focktard neighbor's house or yours? If yours then that would send me through the roof, and I'd probably respond along the lines of: Get a second bronco and rotate them in front of said a-hole's house every 72 hours. Make sure you keep on it for the proper 72 hours to make sure you are within the letter of the law. Maybe even comment on that part to said neighbor. After a couple weeks leave hand written note asking if 1 stationary bronco is better than 2, or if you should add another to the collection for him. Then start leaving 2 in front of his house & parking them across the street for 1 day in between.
A side note on the 72 hour deal as I have dealt with it before. It MAY vary out by you, but I doubt it. This is the way it worked in Newport & Costa Mesa.
Car is on street for over 72 hours & you can call to complain about it. PD will come out & mark car. They then have to wait ANOTHER 72 hours to prove it has been there fore 72 hours. At that point (after the second 72 hours) the car can be ticketed. So yeah, you've got more than 72 hours total if it comes to it. Good luck with the new found "friend". Sorry to hear the neighbor lottery sucked for you this time.
