I'm curious if any of you guys have or have had this compressor in the past. My craftsman decided to start knocking after 10 years of use and is blowing the breaker. So I'm in the market for a decent compressor with the most cfm's I can get for the lowest price. I've been looking at the ingersol 2 stages, gmc and a few others but I would be cheating myself if I didn't see if anyone has tried this compressor. I mean in a perfect world id buy a screw compressor but my buget dosnt allow it. So 2000$ and below what compressor would you guys recommend?

not sure if this helps or not as it's not personal experience and it may not carry for all HF compressors - but check the top post on this page on RDC. Steve seems to like his based on that post.

Thanks Steve. My initial thought was well it's an American made tank and a replacement pump is 139$. At 139$ I could go through a few pumps before I get to ingersol money so I must admit I'm considering it.it would free up the remaining allotted budget for other tools. It's one of those things though. I just don't want to get stuck with a big old pile of junk.

I would lean more towards this one. It's much cheaper and, from what I've read, is made by Campbell Hausfeld. And it comes with a 3 year warranty.

I've had another brand of that same unit. Has performed great for the past 7 years or so. Will run air tools no problem; however, it does run continuously with my cheap die grinder though. Never bolted it down. I just put some big rubber vibration isolation feet on it. Paid $175 used. Just an FYI.birdco85 wrote:I would lean more towards this one. The HF looks like a much better compressor. The higher CFM rating will keep up with all air tools, which makes it much easier on the compressor. Betting it would last for a decade without a problem if properly maintained. Worth the money IMO.
