just put on Solo Motorsports hanger bracket. Now my hanger and shackle sits lower and my shackle clears so I don't have to cut any of the under body.

that's about a 4" drop. How long of a shackle do they have you run with that much drop?

Re: Lisa A.K.A. LaBronc James
I just need to get longer brake lines, weld tabs up for straps, and get narrower spring plates and LaBronc is ready for dirt.

Well I got to drive LaBronc around but the ass end is up a lot. I understand that the leafs have to settle, but this seems like a lot. Is it because I used the Solo Motorsports bracket and moved the rear hanger down a few inches?

It is a lot. And the solo thing looks like more than "just a few inches". It looks about 4" whereas most drop hangers are 2-2.5". This is exactly why I asked what length shackle they recommended you use with such a large drop...keenanduran1 wrote:I understand that the leafs have to settle, but this seems like a lot. And I agree - ditch the drop or build longer shackles. If Dave's shackles are like most other people's then they are 7.5" CL to CL (stock is 4.5" CL to CL if I remember right) and may not rub on the stock body. As I think about it though, maybe the Southwest shackles were 7" CL to CL so as to avoid that rub with the stock hanger.

Did you try and run the shackle in the stock hanger location? I would try that first. I say the lower the better!

LaBronc James
So i called Bobby, who is a super nice guy by the way, and told him about my ride height. I dont have pare tires so i dont really have any extra weight back there. he showed me pictures of others running the same set up and i like the way it looked. I am trusting his opinion and going to wait it out for now. Thank you guys for your input.

Grab a tape measure, what's the eye to eye length on your currect shackle ? How much space is left between the square tube at the back under the body?

Also you can lower the ass end an additional 1.5 inches by cutting off the factory u bolt blocks, ditching the wedges and welding new ones on at the correct unhedged angle. In my build thread it shows a few pictures i think, if not I can grab a few for you. I used synergy axel perches purchased at orw for 20$ or so.

HUGE thanks to Bobby from Solo Motorsports for hooking me up with my brake line and block. Here's a couple of shots of the rear end dropped out. Just need to get some straps for it and some spares.

No more chrome for LaBronc. Next to do is get a 40" rigid for the front bumper and get some bedsides.

Re: Lisa A.K.A. LaBronc James
You need to ditch that drop hanger setup and notch out the body if you want your ride height to lower in the rear.... I believe solo makes a longer shackle then threats so you could always buy their shackle to lower the height as well...
I know that with my Q80 springs it didnt sit thst gnarly at all and I run a camburg shackle and notched the body to clear it
