Re: Christopher's 1984 Bronco
Thanks Scott. The fenders are Autofab fiberglass but the hood is a steel hood. My Autofab drop center hood does not fit because of the shock towers coming up too high and hit the drop center section so I'm stuck with a steel hood for now.

I'll trade you for a used non-dropped-center hood!BajaBronco13 wrote:Thanks Scott. The fenders are Autofab fiberglass but the hood is a steel hood. Steve, I know this sounds crazy but I've been thinking of holding onto that hood for my next bronco. Don't tell my wife, lol.
Not yet Andy but pretty close. I need to take it out at least a few times to the desert.

Great score on this rig Chris! You really want to sell it?

I've really given it some thought as I have a ton of parts sitting in the garage and I've been dreaming of a 1986 black or grey bronco. This is what I have so far:
Solo Motorsports Radius Arms and Beams
Deavers F53 and Solo Motorsports shackles
Autofab Fenders (3" bulge with a 3" larger opening)
Autofab Drop Center hood
Autofab Rear Quarter Panels
6 Bronco Alcoa Wheels
2 BFG Project KRs (35")
Ford Motorsports Valve Covers
And this is what I'm looking for 2.5 (14) King Coil Overs, 2.5 (16) King Bypass and 2.5 King Shorty Bumps for the front. For the rear I want to run 2.5 or 3.0 King Bypass and 2.5 Shorty Bumps. And hopefully I can track down some Edelbrock headers or JBAs.
This white bronco is in great shape and a part of me just thinks I should run it as is but I'd really like to build the nicest 86 Black or Grey Bronco I can afford. Not big pimpin but definitely build it the way I want to build it.
I guess we'll just wait and see. I gotta stop surfing Craig's list for Broncos.

I know Yikes, I've been slacking. I have to make my way over to my buddy's shop where I'm keeping the 1984. I'm really happy with the way the engine cross member turned out. I'll post some pics this weekend.

Here is some pics of the front axle housing for ya Philo:
Jay, I had the mirrors built by Titan Off Road. They are no longer in business but I'm sure any good fabricator can make you a set.

Hey Chris - The pictures may be deceiving, but I think I would do some work on those lower coilover tabs before you pound on that thing too much. Remember, those are taking all of the load. There's no spring over the top of the beam carrying the weight.

Good point Brian. Looks like some gussets above and below should be in order.
I don't think it'll see any dirt for a little while as I'm going to change all the fluids, the belts and give it a good tune up before I take her out.

Re: Christopher's 1984 Bronco
The 84 Bronco received a couple of upgrades this weekend. After hanging out with Tony at Pick A Part we headed back to his house to install my new Kenwood TM271 radio. He first mod'd it and then installed in. Here is a few pics:
I'm really happy how we snaked the antenna through the upper and lower roof panels so that it is not visable:
Antenna:
We also added a rear amber light:
Thanks for your help this weekend Tony.

I routed my antenna the same way. I'm very happy how well the solid mount it holding up. Also gives me a nice place to mount a flag.
